History tells us that the G.I. Joe organization developed out of what was originally to be an elite commando unit of the SHIELD organization, named Fury Force. History lies.
The Fury Force legend was created to hide the truth about the organization which not only gave birth to G.I. Joe, but to the modern day hero, period. That group was a justice-seeking, civil rights minded force of change known simply as: Falcon Force.
>Chief Tor, aka The Mighty Mightor. It is difficult to be enigmatic on a team full of classified and forgotten heroes. But somehow Mightor pulled it off. His was another story of transformation. Though he was capable of burying his club and walking away from his hero persona at will, the fact that he was a warrior without a tribe left him with little cause to do so.
Chief Tor was a Native American born of an ancient and mysterious tribe which legends tell us date back to prehistoric times. His tribe had ties throughout the American and Canadian Pacific Northwest. Both a Chief and Shaman within his own nation, Tor's actual age is unknown. It is suspected by many that he is a tribe Elder in the truest sense of the word, and that his magic is so strong that he himself has survived through the ages, himself from prehistoric times. What is known is that Chief Tor's tribe is no more. So it was that Tor began to wander the world, eventually being recruited by the heroes of the Falcon Force to serve as their muscle in their efforts to cure the world's wrongs. Wielding his mighty ancestral war club (itself a relic, believed by his tribesmen of old to grant him strong supernatural powers), Chief Tor took up the mantle of the Mighty Mightor. His presence on the team was controversial in many respects, as he would at times help bind the team through his noble resolve, while other times jeopardizing the mission through his fits of violent rage (most notably on ancestral tribal dates of note).
