The Iron Lancers are a mercenary force employed by Destro to provide added manpower and firepower to his interests all over the world. Iron Lancers come from all over the world and have served in the armed forces of every major nation on the planet. They are paid on a per diem basis, and are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner in accordance with the highest tradition of Destro's Iron Grenadiers. Upon completion of one year of service, Iron Lancers are given the option to become Iron Grenadiers, complete with a health plan, stock options and 401(k). Both the GI Joe team and the Oktober Guard have clashed with the Iron Lancers, most notably in Sierra Gordo where four members of the Oktober Guard were killed. Their fighting skills were observed to be every bit as deadly as the Iron Grenadiers.
