This custom has quite a bit of history behind it. It originated from the 2006 Montreal G.I.Joe meet, during the speed painting competition. I wasn't really satisfied with any of the parts I'd gotten so I traded some around and ended up with a Funskool Quick Kick head, Scoop torso, Funskool Tracker arms, Cross-Country waist and TF Lifeline legs. I ended up sloppily painting (hey, we didn't exactly have unlimited time!) a replacement for the dead Sneak-Peek named Cougar. The decision for him to be a forward recon guy came from the fact that Scoop's torso had a camera and some binoculars molded on, which would be useful for a guy running recon.

When I got home, I decided to fix up the paint job to make him look more presentable. Eventually, I got tired of using that Quick Kick head, since he's one of my favorite characters and his head is rather iconic. I began a difficult search to find a better head to work from. After MONTHS of searching, I found out I'd had an ideal head in front of me all along: the 2001 Pathfinder head. The skin tone was a good match for the arms, and it just needed a good repaint. In an effort to make him look different from Pathfinder, I painted some longer sideburns, slightly longer hair down the back and I added some stubble. I think it worked well at "disguising" the head as a new character. I also think painting the sunglasses lenses silver looks damn cool.

The original Quick Kick head looked like the guy could be named Cougar. However, the Pathfinder head did not. So I decided to search for a new name, and I ended up deciding to make this guy my version of the Australian rename of Recondo, Digger. He's still a forward recon specialist, I think a guy who grew up in the Australian outback would have enough nerves to hide and stay still while all sorts of creepy crawlies are running around on his clothes and there are Vipers walking right by him shooting at his comrades.

I probably should've given him Marauder Inc's AUG-77 to him for those pictures, since that's the standard Australian SAS armament, but I hadn't decided on a character for him yet, so...

If I ever use him in dioramas or even dio-stories (if I ever get around to making some), he'll use the AUG.
