Design:

After making several other Red Shadows characters, it was time to make the foot soldiers. The parts (except for the CC head and 25A helmets) came from single pack NS figures. This was to make sure that the figures were made from matching parts.

The parts do not meld together perfectly. Although the waists came from the same figure as the chests, they don't really flow very well overall.

Color/Paints:

The Palitoy Red Shadows figures are red, but almost have an orange tint. For the customs, I went with a very dark red instead, throwing on a few splashes of a tomato red.

The masks presented a problem. The design of the Palitoy figure has a sharp edge running across the face- right about at nose tip level. The design of the Red Shadows in the Devil's Due comics appeared to be simply red ski masks with white eyes. I decided to combine the elements from the original figure with the DD appearance. I expanded the black bar around the eyes to the entire upper half of the ski mask. This created the sharp edge line, if only in a "suggested" way.

One figure has black shoulders, one has red. There's no reason for this, other than to make the figures look slightly different from each other.

Sculpting:

The Ace legs were modified with pouches.
