Big Jim was a Mattel line from the 1970s. When it started it was basically just a bunch of sportsmen. Hunting, martial arts, stuff like that. After a couple years however, they decided to make Jim the leader of the P.A.C.K. , Professional Agents: Crime Killers (which is what working backwards from a wolf logo gets you for an acronym I guess). In this line Mattel basically created Real American Hero a half decade early. The outsize characters and villains are great, and that's before you get into the truly awesome European exclusive stuff. Add Jack Kirby boxart to that and you've got me hooked anyway. Jim here is the first of hopefully many characters from the PACK toyline I intend to do. The story was that they were a CIA backed group, which dovetails nicely with my take on the Adventure Team as an undercover espionage unit under the command of the D.O.D. I imagine these guys ran into Colton and his team plenty in the 70s while stopping vaguely Soviet mad scientists with moon lasers and the like.
