As with any long running scientific research, some variations of the experiments produce less than optimal results. For example: Big Fat Mindbender. No one could have predicted when he came out of the stasis tubes that he was prone to obesity, and possessed of a voracious appetite. He's hardly stopped eating since that time. He eats everything he can get his hands on, sometimes stuff that isn't food. They have ended up using him to develop experimental high blood pressure and diabetes medications.
