Design:

The Red Scream character began in GI Joe Extreme. The character has lately been absorbed by Jamar Miller's website and re-imagined as a Red Shadows villain.

This is my interpretation of the Red Shadows version of the character.

As with other Red Shadows customs, I've found that Star Wars figures make surprisingly good starting points. Most of my figures tend to be made (or course) from Joe figures, with a few Star Wars figures. This is my first figure to take parts from four different toy lines- GI Joe, Star Wars, SW Clone Wars, and Indiana Jones.

The Mara Jade upper body and Aasja Ventress lower body blended together nicely. The Marion Ravenwood head fit the design as well. A few GI Joe web gear parts tie it all together.

Color/Paint:

The artwork of Red Scream shows her in a red bodysuit with yellow highlights/chain mail. I ditched the yellow for the most part, keeping a few dashes of it here and there.

The character is supposed to have white hair (a wig, I think). Straight white looked too lifeless, hence the silver wash.

I chose the Marion Ravenwood head because it was the most "opposite" in terms of color of the Red Scream design. Shifting the brown hair to white/silver and changing the eyebrows hides the source head pretty well.

Sculpting:

The Mainframe harness was chopped apart and made into the leg straps. The didn't quite reach all the way around the thighs, so I sculpted pouches to cover the gaps.

More important to this figure is what I didn't sculpt. The artwork of the character shows a face covered with a partial mask. I opted to leave the face exposed, sculpting a lowered mask draped around the base of the neck. The Marion Ravenwood head, which was so poorly painted on the factory version of the figure, deserved to be shown off with a good paint job.

Thanks for looking.
