Charleston grew up in Charleston SC and was always in or near the water so when he graduated from High School he knew his next step was the Navy. While his buddies went off to college Charleston went off to BUDS. He became a SEAL and never looked back.

He had worked with Wetsuit and Torpedo on SEAL Team 3, before they were picked up by the Joe Team. He has even turned down invites to the Joe Team, preferring to stay with his buddies on SEAL Team 6.
