Bio: In WWII, Baron Von Strucker was a top Nazi operative and special-forces leader, running up against both Nick Fury and the Invaders on numerous occassions. Near the end of the war, Von Strucker was under a death-sentance from Hitler for his failures to destroy Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos; he accepted a mission from the Red Skull to begin building several secret bases in the Far East, the better to strike at Japan and China after the war. Taking the Red Skull's resources, Von Strucker left Germany and founded the criminal organization known as HYDRA.

In the years after that organization was formed, HYDRA tangled many times with the then-Supreme Headquarters International Espionage Law-enforcement Division: SHIELD. One of these last encounters ending with the destruction of HYDRA's island base and the appearant death of Baron Von Strucker. Recently, however, both SHIELD, now the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate and G.I. Joe: Frontline have begun picking up hints that HYDRA's defeat and Von Strucker's death might not have been as final as first believed...
