In issues 45 - 50 of the Marvel GI Joe comic run, Ripcord infiltrated Cobra Island in the hopes of finding his girlfriend. Instead he found Zartan, who defeated him, taking his identity and sneaking into the Joe HQ, the PITT. Ripcord in turn posed as Zartan, leading the Joes directly to Cobra's secret town, Springfield!

I had an extra Zartan that I didn't know what to do with, until I saw my spare Thunder head laying around. I figured with the Zartan make-up, white eyes and white gauze pad on the forehead, it looked close enough. I carved out the Zartan cowl to complete the disguise, but it is not pictured.
