The big thing about this camp are the scratch build, reusable buildings.

Of these, the easiest to put together was the garage: A size 14 shoebox became the building, with construction paper to cover any words, and to make the garage opening. The AC Unit on top is a Canon ink cartridge box covered in foil.

For the two-story building, I started by attaching a smaller box to the DTC wave 1 box. Using a Kamakura for size, I cut out a recess and then taped/glued in box flaps to allow for the recessed doorway. This too I skinned in construction paper for a comic book feel, adding a strip of black at the top.

The Quonset hut originally was going to be two, however, I realized I needed interior 'ribs'. I cut each pie pan in half and then stapled the halves bottom to bottom. I used the natural width of the wire mesh (found in the model RR section, used for making RR tunnels) as the length of the hut, and stapled the mesh frame to the pie pan skeleton. So, the hut has two interior ribs and two 'end cap' ribs. I sheeted the whole thing in foil, and added a construction paper doorway.
