Body: ME VAMP
Wheels and brushguard: RC Car
Hood, engine, pipes, etc: JoeCustoms Assembly Required Class add-on kit

At Assembly Required 2014 some of the site staff had started discussing possibly doing a class for next years show. The offical JoeCon already had a figure based class, so a vehicle seemed like a good fit. The idea got batted around a bit, but didn't gain much traction until the Sprin megfield Joe con. There, and on the way home, we really started to flesh out the idea. We decided the kit should be built around the VAMP, since it was such a common vehicle, and one that was versatile as well. With all the Fury Road buzz, I hit on the idea of a V8 Interceptor inspired conversion kit. We shared some different concepts, and I mocked up my ideas using some tagboard. I wasn't expecting to be given the task of actually building the kit, but lo and behold, I was. I don't do much vehicle customizing because I have limited space, and this had the added challenge of needing to be a standalone kit *and* having to work with as many VAMP variations as possible. I built the kit up using sheet styrene and parts from other toylines, and once I had it ready, off it went to nova for casting. As soon as he had some ready, he sent me a set, so I could build the first kit to use for promo pictures and such. Once those were done, I set out to build the "hardcore" version I wanted to offer up as a raffle prize at Assembly Required. Of all the customs I've made, the end result of this project is easily in the top 5 of things I'm most proud to have been involved with.

Now I just need to make another one for myself . . .

To teach, improve, share, entertain and showcase the work of the customizing community.
