Diecast Land Rover Defender 110s
Metal rods

The use of Land Rovers by the British armed forces as gun platforms is not something new.

However with the making of the WMIK, this has become the base for the WOLF XD (offical name by the Ministry of Defence for the Defender 110) for combat roles this vehicle finds itself in.

They first became public knowledge in 2001 in Sierra Leone used by the British Parachute and 1st Royal Irish Regiments. They truly showed themselves to the public during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and then later in Operation Telic in Iraq.

They usually operate with a 3 or 4 man crew & can be armed with an array of weapons: General Purpose Machine Gun (M240 to the US), Browning M2 Heavy Machine Gun and the Heckler Koch 40mm Automatic Grenade launcher (ALGL) newly issued to British armed forces.

Construction notes:
I removed the roofs and the interiors of the Land Rovers and then reconfigured the seating to match the style used by the British Military. The WMIK (Weapons Mounted Installation Kit) Framework, is made up of metal rods that I attached together and secured to the Land Rovers.
