I loved the Chameleon as a kid. I think the fact that it broke down into "junk" and that it changed colors made it more interesting. Of course, it was not the most sturdy vehicle made. I think 1984 had a whole "water toy" theme going on given the release of the WHALE, SHARC, and Water Moccasin that same year.

Being such as scene-specific vehicle, it's no wonder it was only featured in 1 or 2 comic issues or cartoon episodes. I like how the cartoon, at least, capitalized on both the water cannon and ink spray features.
