File Name: Unknown

The C model of the Firebat (aka the Sea Snake) is equipped with dual pontoons and a single front hydroplaning ski. This allows the small jet to takeoff and land in small lakes, seas and straight stretches of rivers. Already equipped with an impressive thrust to weight ratio, a pair of auxiliary turbines have been added to assist in breaking the plane and surface tension of the water on takeoffs and to allow shorter distance takeoffs. This is perfect for Cobra and allows them to operate out of remote inaccessible areas without creating large identifiable structures such as airstrips, hangars and Terror Dromes. Many of Cobra's nefarious weapons systems purchasers like them for those same reasons. A small boathouse or foliage overgrown riverbank, a fuel supply and any penny-ante dictator or insurgent can have their own covert interceptor/strike base. Air Power has grown in dominance in the last 60 years, and there has always been a push to lesson it's dependence on large vulnerable support structures. VTOL, STOL aircraft and rough field capable landing craft have continued to be researched and improved upon over the decades. Cobra has taken an idea off the shelf from the late '80s and implemented it to great effect. Joes had better be even more wary now, as this little aquatic pocket rocket could pop in their six at any time from any innocuous little overgrown lake or river. One significant drawback is the threat of corrosion that accompanies basing aircraft in and near water.

Based on radio intercepts it is presumed that Naga-6 is a fighter pilot from a Middle Eastern country, possibly Egypt or Iraq based on his heavy accent and precise pronunciation. His dog fighting skills are impressive, and an analysis of some his tactics used in incidents have led Joe experts to believe that he has been to either the US Navy Top Gun school or the Turkish equivalent, Anatolian Eagle. His ability to withstand extremely high-g's indicates he may have started out in the ranks as a Strato Viper. He commands respect from his troops not through fear or intimidation (like many other Cobra leaders), but through his demands for aeronautical perfection and his loyalty to his pilots. He is a demanding perfectionist, both of himself and of his pilots, but he is also consummate trainer, able to bring out the best. Cobra pilots know that serving with him will be tough and demanding, but rewarding in that they will be pushed to their limits. They also know that he will always be there with them in the thick of the worst furballs and covering their six.

"Takeoff by wing-pairs and annihilate the Joes" Naga-6's voice in recorded radio transmissions during the Cobra Island invasion - Northern portion of the island where the G.I. Joe team had attempted to bring in a second wave of fighters to assist in the aerial dogfight over the airfield. Two XP-14F Skystrikers piloted by Flagg ready pilots were downed, and the other two were driven off by a flight of six Firebat-C's led by Naga-6 launching from coastal facilities. One Firebat-C was destroyed.

"It was in Sierra Gordo, and we were coming in hot to provide some close air support to the ground team, and out of nowhere, my warning systems start going berserk. This little pocket rocket had popped out of nowhere, directly into my six and launched a pair of heat seekers at mid range. I hit the afterburners and bolted. If he had been a mite bit closer, or me a bit slower, I would have been toast. The CAS had to be provided by the helos, and by the time I could shake those missiles and get turned around, he was gone...but he had accomplished his mission. I can't wait to mix it up with him in a fair fight" - Skystriker
