Spitfire was a nameless SAW Viper working through the ranks of Cobra when he was "asked" to help with the research and development of a new armored suit that would allow a soldier to suppress enemy fire while withstanding return fire and shrapnel. Because of his large physical frame and enormous strength he was the perfect candidate. After spending a great deal of time and resources the suit was deemed too costly for mass production, Cobra canceled production before it was completed. Still extremely effective in a fight, the prototype was released for use even with all of the glitches. Spitfire was excited to use it because he knew what it could do. And he was right.

Spitfire enjoys the deafening sound that his gun makes during a firefight. His idea of heaven is standing in the middle of a battle with rounds pinging of his armor, taking out targets and watching the enemy run in fear. He rarely takes off his suit and helmet (he wants to be battle ready at all times). He seldom says anything and usually answers questions with head nods and hand gestures. Some say he can't talk because of a hideous war wound but the truth is his helmet has no microphone - just one thing to be installed at a later time - one of many.
