Hayden Bradley was noticed by the F.B.I. at an early age. The youth continually showed up at crime scenes observing agents and taking notes. Though the local authorities disregarded him as troubled teen with mental issues, F.B.I. Agent Hollis James took the youth under his wing and had the youth evaluated. The findings were off the charts, though Hayden did show mild levels of autism, the youth was a genius on many levels. Agent James helped in the counseling and future education of the youth as he saw immense opportunity within the youth.

Bradley graduated from high school at fourteen, and then college at sixteen. James had major plans for the youth. Bradley graduated from the F.B.I. academy at the age of eighteen with specialization in forensic pathology, psychology, and computer-based modeling. His first case with the agency would be his last; to discover the murderer of his mentor Hollis James. After his investigation concluded, Bradley resigned and begin a new career as an internet profiler digging up any dirt on clients for on-line personal sites.

General Hawk, who held Hollis James as one his most trusted contacts, knew of the young man and was shocked at hearing of his resignation. He visited Bradley a few months after Hollis' death and offered him a new lease; a job working for G.I.Joe. Bradley was reluctant at first, but he then came on-board when General Hawk pulled out a top secret file. The file revealed that Hollis' death was a hit ordered by Cobra Commander.

"You never saw this," Hawk stated, "and if you claim you did, I will deny it to my grave."

Bradley slides the file back to the general. "Where do I sign up?" Bradley questions.

"Son, you just did," the general answers. "So what will be your code-name?"

"I can think of just one that will fit...Toe-Tag."

Bradley joined the Joe team as its first forensics officer. His lab was custom built to his specs and was off limits to nearly all personnel. Though many team members thought him a bit anti-social, they came to respect his keen mind and ability to solve puzzles on instances that many of the higher-ups had written off as lost causes. His skill with working a crime scene was like no other. The blood and guts that made others step back made Bradley step forward. He has a way of working the authorities to gain intel that he can pass along to the Joe team.

"Each life has a purpose and a story to tell," Bradley has been quoted as saying, "and it's my job to find out the beginning, middle and end."

Quote from fellow Joe-Team Member Roadblock: "The dude talks to dead people...creeps the heck outta me. But he's good...real good at what he does. Just wish he wouldn't talk to the slabs so much. He makes Gung-Ho's voodoo mumbo-jumbo look normal."
