Boston Dynamics worked directly with the Joes on turning their Alpha Dog field robot into a Special Forces combat assistant. The Joes Research and Development team said they needed something more like a Golden Retriever than a mule or a Mastiff. Something that could move quickly and quietly when they move, stay when they stop, smart enough to fetch something they point to, and most importantly, be light enough that two Joes can strap it to the back of a FOE Striker or HAMMER for quicker mobility.

The Airborne caps started this project and then the Orbits container became the body. In the end I liked the body and only used the caps as snow shoes. The legs are from a pvc AT-ST I got for a quarter at a yardsale for the attached guns. The wrest is parts bin fodder.
