When Ripper was a young boy growing up in Tasmania, he discovered a set of old manuals on machine gun repair in his grandfather's attic. For some reason those manuals fascinated him and set him on his lifelong love of automatic weapons.

As a young man he enlisted in the Tasmanian army, where he managed to land a position n his unit's armory, where he was able to add to his considerable knowledge. After his enlistment he accepted a job with a movie company filming a war movie in New Zealand to be their man in charge of their weapons. His extensive knowledge came in handy not only for the film but also for it's budget, by keeping the weapons (some older even than he) in good order.

Three years later he moved to the United States and set himself up in business as a gun dealer, specializing in exotic weapons and machine guns. He married and became father to two children, and watched his reputation as a dealer grow. That's when trouble came knocking.

Honest almost to a fault he refused to deal "under the table", particularly when agents of GI Joe came calling, looking to buy some of his weapons, as well as to recruit him to their cause. What started as a threatening verbal confrontation with Heavy Duty turned into a horrible nightmare just hours later; the Joes broke into his store and stole the weapons they wanted, then "punished" him by having Heavy Duty blow up his house with a rocket launcher. Ripper, on his way to the store to investigate the alarm, was not there... but his family was. All of them died as a result, and his hatred of the Joes was forever cemented. When Cobra was formed, Ripper was one of the first people to sign up, and remains eager to take the fight to the Joes, going full auto all the way.

My favorite of the bunch; with a name like Ripper he just HAD to be a machine gunner. He went together the smoothest and gave me a use for the 2003 Ripper head. I decided to give him a wholly military look and used pewter gray to add the camo splotches, which came out a lot better than expected. I dry-brushed the accessories to give them a worn/cared for look One thing I couldn't do much about were the black spots on his neck/face; they're original paint so I decided to leave them, to emulate grease (he is an armorer) and add a bit of "character" to him.
