Duke

After Cobra's latest fiasco dubbed the VENOM experiment, the Jugglers tightened their fist on G.I.Joe. They limited team usage to a minimum, and usually those missions were strictly security details. Duke worked around the system by gaining intel from a green-shirt hacker known as High-Tech. H.T. alerted Duke to an increased level of activity on Cobra Island. Though salvage teams had been sent to tear down the Cobra complex, the lifeforms H.T. was reading were not human.

Duke disguised himself as salvage crew member to gain access to Cobra Island via salvage barge. When he arrived on the island, the crew was met Battle Android Troopers, more evolved and sentient than before. Duke was taken captive and placed in a cell with the worst cell-mate possible, Cobra Commander. The commander was strapped to a gurney and pumped with a glowing purple fluid. He babbled about Dr. Mindbender being dead and kept screaming "Over-Kill." After two days of his babbling, Duke could take no more and yanked out his IV. The Commander eventually regained his wits and explained what had happened on the island.

According to the commander, Dr. Mindbender had a fail-safe trigger placed in his body to release his next experiment should his heart ever stop. With the VENOM experiment unraveling around him, Cobra Commander had Fire-Fly set explosives on the transport chopper taking Mind-Bender away to prison. The Commander knew of the doctor's next project but didn't worry because he knew Mindbender hadn't found the host for his "Mainframe." But in fact he had in two specimens; one an injured Action Force agent known as Stone, and the other a bothersome former Joe Green-shirt turned Cobra trooper Dataframe.

Duke felt like he was living in a bad sci-fi movie after hearing the commander's story.

When Robot Rebellion was chosen as the theme for this GP, I already had ideas churning. While I like Sigma Six as a concept, the figures never captured much of my interest. I have made 25th scaled Sigmas in the past and had full intentions of continuing them. Duke and Cobra Commander fall right into place.

With Duke, I wanted a weathered yet battle ready figure. I modeled him after the Sigma Strike version of Duke and tried to incorporate much of the concept in the bios.

Please read Duke's bio first and then Cobra Commander's to get the whole story!
