Ghostrider and Ace, on a routine mission over Cobra Airspace, were shot down by a highly advanced experimental Cobra weapon. A mission was sent, and while the team was able to rescue ACE, (who was in the cell beside him) they left Ghostrider there to rot there because no one on the rescue team recognized him. With nothing but time on his hands, Ghostrider spotted another person lurking around the prison, largely unnoticed. Ghostrider struck up a conversation with Zandar, and the two of them connected, talking about being "invisible" to the rest of the world. Inspired by his new "invisible" friend Zandar, Ghostrider decides to join his kindred spirit in Cobra. Ghostrider - "Forget about me? I'll make them remember... in fire and blood! They'll never see me coming."
