Polecat

Primary Military Specialty: Rat Operator
Secondary Military Specialty: Wetland Survival

Most Cobra specialized units are distinguished by unique training methods or experimental surgical processes. Not so with the Polecats. Any lowlife can become a Polecat as long as they have experience surviving and thriving in swampy areas and enjoy causing extensive destruction with fast-moving vehicles. Most of Copperhead's extended family would apply, and, in fact, did. Other Polecats hail anywhere from the Louisiana Bayou to the Monsoon country of Southeast Asia. But they do have one thing in common: sheer meanness. And that smell!

Apparently, Polecats were originally called some random designation akin to "Swamp-Vipers" but once their reputation for repugnant odor became well-known within the Cobra ranks, a new well-deserved nickname caught on. Even those few Polecats who've risen in the ranks to other stations can still be distinguished by a lingering hint of foulness in the air. Most of these fine specimens spent their pre-Cobra careers as smugglers, bandits and fugitives hiding from authorities in swamplands where personal hygene was not high priority. It seems old habits die hard.
