As the race to nuclear domination raged, it was inevitable that the Soviet Union would stop at no cost in securing the top scientists in their quest for world conquest. Professor Fredrick Von Stein was a young Hungarian atomic scientist when he began working for the Soviets. Like many in Eastern Europe he hid his family linage from the world. As was common the Soviets cut corners which resulted in a massive nuclear explosion that destroyed the facility and most of those with in miles of it. It was believed that there were no survivors. However, Stein's body was found and taken to a hospital in East Germany. His face disfigured, body burned, and left arm gone he was listed as persons unknown. After months of lying in constant pain he was visited by a German doctor looking for patients to experiment on. Stein was selected and taken to a remote facility. While there the secrets of his past began to come to light. It was here that he was fitted with his robotic arm along with other upgrades to allow him to live and survive. After recovering, his mind twisted and damaged, he decided to pick up where his ancestors left off. With his dark, twisted experiments Professor Von Stein would become the new face of terror in the world.

For this project I wanted to include an "old school" villain, a classic mad scientist who had been disfigured in an accident. I had actually put this figure together for the retro sci-fi challenge but something just wasn't right. I realized it was the red skull. It still looked too much like him. My original thoughts where to just add patches of skin, but then I went "paint happy" and got much better results by mixing skin tones. Now it has that disfigured look, if you look close even bone showing through.
