1991, unfortunately the springloaded crap and neon colours invade the line.......... :-( But there are still a few nice figures and characters!
Sonic Fighters and Talking Battle Commanders are not in.
Let everyone know what figure you like best (and please explain why)!

Interrogator was a favourite back when I was a kid. I gave him Sub-Zero's rifle and him taking on the Joes all by him self. No problem for a dude with a cool helmet.

Just like 1990, my tie-breaker is which one I have more of and that's Incinerator

Tough year though. Nice army builders and even the individual characters are pretty cool. I even like Cobra Commander's drone glider

Easy, Desert Scorpion.

H.M.s go to Night Vulture and Cesspool.

As I said in the other thread, I can;t believe we are alrady in '91, and that there is so little to choose from here.
I picked Desert Scorpion as he is the baddest of the bad offerings, or hottest, or coolest.....let's go with Hottest as he is a desert troop

No brainer this year.

Snow Serpent came with a cool Cobra-esque Boogie Board! and was one of the only spring loaded missile launchers I could tolerate, as it attached to his backpack.

Toxo Viper

Far cooler and scarier than the original plus the new suit was better built.

Despite there being a lot of cool Cobras in 1991, this was a no-brainer for me -- DESERT SCORPION! Although this has been rectified in recent years, I think due to our real-world military conflicts, the desert environment was pretty well ignored by the original line. There was ONE desert-dedicated G.I.Joe trooper, Dusty, and ONE desert-dedicated Cobra soldier, Desert Scorpion, and it took them until 1991 to get around to him! Fortunately, I think he's a really cool figure.

A close second for me would be the CRIMSON GUARD IMMORTAL. Despite the moderate presumptuousness of the suffix, this CG had a really cool and far more battle-ready design than the original.

I also liked the INCINERATOR and the B.A.T. II on the year. SLUDGE-VIPER had a cool design, even though I think he works a bit better as the SUB-VIPER.

Really, guys? No one else showing Night Vulture some love. The purple is subdued! The pink-orange salmon color, not so much, but it's still a great figure! Easily one of my favorite figures in the ENTIRE line. It's just really badass looking.

I love interrogator he looks like an upper level Cobra character should. Sweet helmet, logo embossed on chest, assorted chain and spike decorations. Still a Favorite today

Night Vulture is cool, but there's something about the overall design of the figure that makes him look to me like a rejected Snake-Eyes design. Like Hasbro got all the way to the molds with him and someone said, "Nah, recolor him and make him into somebody else." I'm not saying that's what happened, and I'm not saying that he's not a cool figure, but there's just something about his overall look that made me think that the first time I saw him.

Yeah, I always thought NV was meant to be a re-do of SE v2, and they went ahead with both designs that year and decided at the last minute which they wanted to be SE v4; and I'd bet they went with the fig they did because of his imposing presence.

And I don't care what others say, *every* fig this year is bad-ass, on both sides. I had them all from originally buying them in the store, but I bought a lot more of the BATs than any other fig in the line. When they came out with the Netclusive repaint, that "LASER BLAST" was ON. Everyone loves the v1 solely for nostalgia, but the v2 is a superior product in every way imaginable.

For me it was a tossup between the Snow Serpent and the Toxo-Viper. I didn’t really look at the overall quality of the design of these figures to choose them; they were just my favorites when I was younger. To determine which to go with I did end up regarding their colors and molds and I have to say, the Toxo-Viper comes out on top. While the Snow Serpent comes with some really awesome accessories, something that the Toxo-Viper lacks, it’s white and tan color scheme kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth. The Snow Serpent is also far more realistic in the design of the uniform but the Toxo-Viper’s design is somehow more appealing to me. This sci-fi undertone also helps me forgive the Toxo-Viper’s green and purple color scheme, not that the colors don’t go well together, it’s just that I don’t think that I’ve ever seen a military uniform with that combination. The Toxo-Viper also has that color changing damage that appears when you put him under the faucet. I love that.

I voted Interrogator. For some reason, he has always struck me as a far nastier helmeted version of Michael palin's character from 'Brazil'.

the bat, he seemed like a high tech update on the original.

I used him as a prototype that was nye indestructible.
