Hold on!
Zargon and Darkon? Those are Action Man and Super Joe characters, I'm surprised that Hasbro is allowing this.
I really like the new Action Jackson in his classic colorway.
Those figures look pretty awesome.

Does anyone know why they chose not to continue with the Captain Action series of characters?
I was really looking forward to Kid Action, Lady Action and Dr. Evil as well as the Silver Streak car.
There seemed to be a comment on the Kickstarter that someone was sad they were not pursuing Captain Action anymore.

All Zica says is that they weren't able to reach an agreement to continue the license contract. My gut says the licensor is simply tired of the delays; but the Captain Action property is otherwise so dead I can't imagine they have any better options.

I doubt 'Zargon' and 'Darkon' are still Hasbro copyrights.

Part of a toy license agreement is the time of the license, unless they have automatic renewals for continued license fees (for 2 decades Kenner renewed the Star Wars license for $100K a year). At the end of that time the parties can renegotiate the deal. It is possible Captain Action wanted more money or found another partner. Sometimes all it takes is for the industry to take notice that something is available and competitors start circling like sharks. Think about how NECA essentially first hit the mass market with the horror licenses McFarlane had already done. It is also just as possible that Zica thinks it can make more money using the existing tooling for characters that don't require having to paying a license. I guess in a year or two if there isn't anything Captain Action out there to speak of, we'll know which one it was.

I’m liking the figure assortment in wave two better than wave one

Oh, SNAP; a free add-on to the All-In tier:

I'm gonna want to get a couple more in the BK to make some evil space goons for the other baddies to boss around.

Aaaaaaaaand canceled. I assume due to low performance and publicity. A KS campaign either has to succeed right out of the gate or as a last-ditch effort at the end; is what I tend to see. If the interest isn't there right out to get funded you gotta be out there every minute every day beating the bushes to keep the contributors you have, make them contribute more, and gain new contributors. My brother at Zica just isn't good at that part.

i am woefully ignant of how ks works. if you pledge $$$ and it doesn't get funded do you get your $ back? or never have to pay in the first place? with all the "i'd like to buy" tire kickin folks out there i could see a lot of pledges, then lots of excuses why they can't pay. i had an ebay buyer ,of an auction mind you, that messaged me and asked to wait until their payday next friday. then friday came and no $$$, they said they didn't expect it to go so high! they did bid that high and win. i waited about 3 more days and had to cancel.

Yeah, your money is never taken unless it funds; so no worries.

The figures themselves look good. And if they were in the same scale as other 3rd party figures I'd pick some up. But seeing in hand pictures that show a noticeable size difference didn't win me over. They are just a hair too short and the heads are a smidge too small to fit in with the rest of my collection unfortunately.

Yep - I grabbed the two main Sectaurs dudes before I read the thread and saw that they were tiny. Such a waste - these could've been amazing. Although now I wish I'd gotten in on some of the Eagle Force stuff from 17 years ago -- the Larry Hama figs aren't bad. Already took one and bashed it onto some Dime Novel legs and an MTF head. It's a decent piece made with decent plastic. Whenever people actually get their Eagle Force stuff, I think they'll be happy.

I was really disappointed to see this is cancelled. With few new additions to the 3.75 inch world right now, this would have breathed some much-needed life via old and new characters.
I wish they would have stuck it out to the August deadline. I think they may have gotten more interest than they thought.
