I'm not sure if this has been discussed before because it falls into the "who gives a damn" category but I was looking at the Street Fighter movie toys for custom/repurposing ideas. I looked at the box art for the Dragonfly redeco, and saw that it has the "Street Fighter II" logos on it, but also, what appears to be Cammy from Super Street Fighter II in the cockpit.
http://www.yojoe.com/archive/actfig/sf/ ... rbox.shtml
Now obviously Cammy never got a Joe figure, but it makes me wonder if this was unused art/vehicle from a canceled second wave of SF Joes, which would have included the characters from Super Street Fighter II, because after all, why would they even draw a character on the box if they had no intention of making her in the first place? They most likely shuffled the larger vehicle releases into the SF Movie line. All speculation, of course, and really, who cares, but can you imagine how useful a Cammy head sculpt would have been for customs?

This is a good question for the Declassified guys.

The Shadowloo HQ box has several unmade characters on it. Always wondered.

Never noticed, but you're right, the HQ box has all 4 of the characters added in Super SFII.

How would I get a hold of them? Methinks we have a mystery to uncover!

I don't know their web address but google GI Joe Declassified. They have a site and podcast. Heck they might already have this information on their site.

Cammy definitely would have been a neat figure to add to the women ranks, Siege! Shame this subset never really gained traction with a second wave.

Another question to ponder: considering most of the other characters are mainly recycled parts, what body sculpt would've been used from the Joe line's previous releases? Chun Li was Ninja Force Scarlett repainted, which was fairly decent... ... but that's the only female buck with action features I can think of. :-/

Maybe V1 Baroness torso and legs (for a more "military armored" look instead of a skintight bodysuit), along with V1.5 Scarlett arms, and waist? With the right color scheme, that might be an alright look. :shifty:

Since they were all about action features and cheap repaints, I'm seeing Cammy as a full NF Scarlett repaint.

Back in the days there was SOME effort to do unique parts combos, so I don't think the design team would be that hard-pressed to use the same figure sculpt twice in such a small time frame... :-/

Hang on, aren't we talking about characters that were on the big fortress box? IIRC, that was part of the 'movie' line which featured generally new sculpts for anybody that wasn't Guile or Bison (as opposed to the 'game' line which had almost exclusively recycled body parts), so if they made a Cammy at that point, it would likely be a new sculpt.

Well, ain't that a kick in the teeth: I didn't really know there was a seperation between the two groups of figures. :-/ Honest mistake, yo. I'd always seen 'em kinda lumped together at the White Elephant store in Spokane and never thought twice about whether they were "G.I. Joe sub-group" or "Official Movie Tie-in" sets. In light of this new info, I guess a brand new sculpt for Cammy and the rest of the fighters wouldn't have been too out of nowhere if the ball had kept rolling. ;-)

I don't think so. Cammy was pictured on the Heli-fighter box, which was released as a movie vehicle, yet still featured stickers from the game line. It's likely it was repurposed at the last minute.
