Heads up, y'all! I stumbled across these figures from a line named 'Water Margin' on AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Water-M ... 66910.html

On a lark I took a leap of faith with AE and made my first order (picking up a couple of other unrelated figures as well), choosing the Soldier guy to sample the three figures thinking he'd have the best customs-fodder use if he turned out to be a dud. Happily, he is not and is well worth the money (admittedly I lucked into a sale and got him for about $32 instead of the higher price they're running today).

He's a bit bigger than a regular HACKS dude (as has likely become the standard measure for everyone here, lol), but not unrealistically so, imho. Once stripped of all his removables, he's proportioned most like MU Cable, and thus doesn't have a whole lot of easy swap-customizability. But that's irrelevant since he'll be staying more-or-less as is and all three (I've just ordered the other two figures) will be assimilated into my overall HACKS side of my playverse.

His articulation format is along the lines of what we all want: ball-motion joints everywhere but the double-hinged knees. One pic shows all the stuff that's easily pull-apartable by hand; and I'm sure I can get the waist and upper neck joints apart with some heating. The only negatives I've found are a bit of excess flashing at a few joints and injection ports, that the wrists are a bit too loose due to the need for the swappable hands, and that the vest armor rides up a bit in some poses (I'll be gluing it down later).

Accessories-wise, he's got a lot of great stuff. He's got the helmet and a doo-rag for his noggin, plus a kerchief for his neck if he gets sweaty. The two pairs of hands (although I'll likely just stick with the grabbies). For weapons kit, there's the pole-ax and archery kit that includes a bow, single arrow (that his fingers can splay to grab, woot!), quiver with non-removable arrows plus a 'sheath' for the bow allowing him to carry it at his waist. The quiver and sheath can insert into any of the holes in his belt. Lastly he comes with a 2-piece dio-stand that is a square meter of cobblestone road and what I'm assuming is something along the lines of a mile marker or city limits sign. There's also a beauty of a collector card.

So, if you're wanting any 18th Medieval Chinese characters in your HACKSverse; here's your chance to get a trio!

Nice. Do you have a MU Hercules you could compare him to too?

Probably not minty-fresh; but I can surely dig up at least a custom built off him or his buck-brothers Ares and Omega Red once I get home tonight. He'll be a bit shorter and less bulky. Cable really is the best match I can think of for his 'presence'.

I got my other two WM guys yday. I can see the points of guys I've seen saying each of them are their fave over the Soldier. Now that I have all three and have little clue of their names, I call them 'Gen Tso, Big 'Un, and Keanu'.

I noticed the placards on the 'road signs' are different, which makes me think they're the guys' names. Anybody know these three's names?

The boxes are just lovely, imho.

Big 'Un and Keanu also come with secondary weapons, swappable open-palm hands, and beautiful filecards. I'm going to give Keanu's bo staff to Big 'Un, and give Big 'Un's secondary sword and sheath to Keanu. They're identical, so Keanu will go double-swords. I have need of multiples of all three dudes for customs.

I unwrapped "Big 'Un" (I like that name) for Christmas from Santa. :shifty: A little flippity floppy in the joints, especially the ankles and the secondary shirt is really gummy rubbery, but overall it is a nice figure. I wish there was more color on them but I can fix that. Nice to have a bigger character in the mix for sure.

Yeah, the Big 'Un buck has a lot of promise, for certain types of characters. I need two more of him immediately.

Most awesome info drop! Mucho gracias, man!

Also, the AliExpress retailer said the manufacturer definitely intends to make all 108 Warriors, if able.
