What happens if they close before the bill comes due?

As someone with the TRU credit card - the card will still be active even after they shut down.

Well you won't get any rewards anymore after they are gone. Probably should try to redeem all those rewards.
I'm sure after the card's expiration date they may just switch it to a regular Mastercard.
I remember I had one of those Bravo credit cards. They were the same as Discover. When that went under I ended up with 2 Discover cards.

Yep, made sure we already cleaned out our rewards, and will likely cancel the card. Again, another bummer - remember walking out of TRU after the midnight sale for Phantom Menance with a cart full of toys paid for with gift certificates. Man.....what a sad use of Geoffrey Dollars.

Looks like the sad news brought people back at TRU for a last hurrah.
Instagram posts and YouTube videos keep on popping about people visiting their local stores and the parking lots have never been so full.

Even though Canadian stores are supposed to stay opened, I visited TRU this weekend and there was a lot of people there.

Yeah, I went on Sat and it was a tad busier than most times, but no biggie. I didn't pick up the MB Mars Explorer set as I'm thinking I can get it later. Instead I nabbed the True Heroes hovercraft finally, and a PacRim Titan Redeemer, Mech X-4 Chameleowasp beastie, and a TF TitanMaster Apeface (who's gorilla mode blows goats). That will likely be my last regular trip to TRU.

Passed through a few stores this weekend.... very busy with lots of annoyed "customers" saying things like "I thought everything would be clearenced by now."

But KB might be making a come back....http://www.therockfather.com/news-and-reviews/toy-and-games/item/5906-strategic-marks-plots-return-of-kb-toys-in-the-wake-of-toys-r-us

Sad days, indeed. First we had a Christmas without G.I.Joe, now we'll have a Christmas without Toys 'R' Us.

I've been to my local TRU more times in the last week or two than in the previous month. I observed the same thing; the place is much more crowded than before. In talking with a cashier, they said the place has been busier since the news broke.
The clearance will start Thursday.
Trucks are still coming, BUT it's mostly TRU brands. And if you want Legos at TRU, don't wait. Lego people are going in and taking their stuff out.

mine are just doing 10% off now and people are still clearing shelves like bread and water during a hurricane warning

Yeah I stopped in for one last nostalgic visit and it was 5% or 10% off and people were filling up carts like it was 90% off. I bought some things for my kids but didn’t see anything I wanted for my collecting or for customizing.

I went yesterday for what will probably be my last tRIP, I picked up a few items but with only 10% off still not much of a deal. If it had been maybe 25% I would have picked up more

Yeah.. 10% is basically tax. Nothing worth it at this point.

May pick up that Guardians box set for fodder if it still lingers once we get to 25% to 30%.

I went to mine a few weeks ago for future historical pics, I wanted pics of full shelves, not ransacked stores

I finally went. Main thing I was hoping for were some Chap Mei sets or Animal Planet sets, but they were all gone. Ended up getting some Stranger Things 3 packs for $10 and some Assassin's Creed 3.75" figs for $4 each.
