Ooh - I was hoping we'd see the Ghosts at retail. Wish it was purple, but will start the hunt. Anyone heard of these showing up at Target along with the others?

I was in 6 or 7 Targets today and nada.

Yeah, they seem to have been taken by surprise by how popular these bastards are. Some dumbass must have told them 18th is dead at retail and they planned accordingly.

Went to 2 different Targets, only saw 1 Halo (one of the 2-packs)...hopefully things are selling well and we see Scorpions and Pelicans.

I got a couple of the 3-packs with 2 Marines and Chief. The box for these is ridiculously wasteful. The tray is 3 times thicker than it needs to be and it could be 1/3 less wide by putting the figure stands behind the figures. Its nearly the same size as the box for the Warthog. Just wasteful. But the figures are nice and the price I got them for on Amazon was too good to pass up. $24.99 for 3 figures? Hell yeah I'll take it.

That 3-pack packaging. Ruler for scale.

I mean damn. Is this necessary?

And the back of the box doesn't even have anything interesting on it. Just a big art piece of Master Chief.

Boxes and inserts should have backdrops printed on them so they could be used as playsets or environments for the figures.
That's just a big waste right here.

The Firefly board game did that, all the trays and the bottom of the game box are printed as to be used as 3d buildings for the game. That's just brilliant.

maybe they made one box to fit multiple sets and this one is oversize. still might be cheaper and smaller footprint than tooling a separate box for each. total speculation and i am probably wrong. they might figure consumers will pay more for a bigger box. like "chip bags" full of air.

Jazwares as a whole is kinda stupid with packaging. The Fortnite line has those damnable clamshells and all that "LASER BLAST" confetti. They're definitely on the wrong track with their entire packaging philosophy, imho.

Thank God I don't buy packaging, tho.

2 of my Walmart stores each got in solid cases of Master Chief, at least 20 at each store and solid cases of the Ghost, 9 of each, no Mongoose in sight.

Preordered the Mongoose set on Amazon, due on 12/28. SoCal is in COVID lockdown til the end of the year so no toy browsing for me. I prefer to order online anyway. Saves me the disappointment of not finding stuff in stores.

I got a Ghost earlier this week, too (last in-person shopping for me for a while, due to the aforementioned SoCal lockdown).

Pros: it looks awesome as a generic sci-fi speeder/swoop kind of thing (I've never played the game, so I can't speak to its screen accuracy). And it feels more solid and toy-like than I expected.

Cons: it's huge. Putting a normal 4" figure in the seat is like a putting a second-grader behind the wheel of a car, proportionally speaking. Its scale did force me to finally get to work on a larger-bodied custom I've been putting off for years to ride it, so I guess that goes in the pro column, too.

Anybody else learn today that the Ghost has an adjustable seat? I was trying to fit the Elite in there and noticed his feet were too long for the pedals and then *zzziiippp*, the damn thing extended and fit him perfectly.

I should pay attention to "LASER BLAST" more often.

Not a bad fit. Are the handlebars connected to the front wheels? Do they control the steering? If not it wouldn't be too hard to move them back a bit so the figure can sit more naturally in the seat.
