I walked into a hole in the wall pharmacy while delivering mail today and they had 1999 "Episode I" figures (4 Jar Jars, 1 Obi Wan and 1 Padme) hanging on 3 pegs in their toy aisle.

It was weird to see 21 year old toys at a non-collector retail store.

It’s rare to see many toys hanging on pegs anymore

I found a pair of Star Brigade Invaders at a Boscov's (dept store in the Northeast) back in the early 2010's. I assume they were hidden somewhere in the store or back room since the early 90's.

I told this story...two or so years ago(?) when it happened...but I found two boxed vintage Micronauts playsets at a Chinese convenience store...blew my mind.

I remember spotting a few POTF2 figures at Rite Aid over the years. Yak Face in the mid 2000's and EV-9D9 sometime in the 2010's.

I bought a Mudbuster at a corner store in 1998 for a whopping 8 dollars. I had to ask my mom for a forward on my allowance.

It's been a bit now, due to quarantines and schedules, but the local Right Aid/Walgreens still has two of the same Star Wars figure on the pegs for years now.

It's one of the Pod Racers, with the puppy dog ears and goggles. They are marked $13.99 and have a production date of 2007.

Meanwhile, before TRU went out I got several multipacks of the Podracers including that very same figure for $5 each (normally $29.99). I pointed this out the big Walgreens rep that came in to my work. He had come in as a goodwill 'ask nearbye stores' type tour. He mentioned if I had any issues and I told him. He said he would look into it. They were still there at full price.

One thing I found way early though was back in February 1999. Had to take a quick trip to the NY/Vermont border because my Parents had left something at a toy show they had gone to. Walked into a store there and found those Phantom Menace Episode 1 accessory sets on the shelf. This was months before the midnight madness release. Nothing had shown up in my area until the midnight madness event.

It’s been several years but I walked into a now closed mall toy store and found a helix figure on the card for $2.43.

Not quite the same as the other posts, but last year, we went to a novelty goods place that was closing after 60 years in business. They had everything on sale and had pulled stuff from their warehouse to put out to get rid of everything. They had some of the old Smurf toys from the '80's but I wasn't interested in them so left them there. They also had military model kits dating from the '70's to mid-00's. What caught my eye were the grab bags of capsule machine toys. I bought all they had because they were all full of these guys:

The stickers were pristine. TJ Maxx stickers tend to come apart when you try to remove them. I tried to remove one to read the text underneath a few years ago and it just rips apart.
