Received one of the items that I ordered last week during eBay's 20% sale.

I had Kup as a kid and got rid of him when I turned 12. Really glad to bring him back into my collection after 30 years. Oh and Wheelie sucks. He is staying in car mode.

Made my last trip to the closest TRU. It was sad, I did pick up 2 Gardians 2 packs, 2 Dr Strange 2 packs, 1 Enchantress 2 pack and a Rage figure

I was quite surprised there are still souvenir exclusives available this late.
FYI I will gladly trade 1 of a kind for a regular con Laser Viper

So I called down to the nearest TRU to see when the last day was. Found out tomorrow was it.

Got ready and headed out for the 45-50 minute drive.

Everything that was left was just in the U-shaped section right inside the door. It was pretty much demolished as items were ringing up to 90% off.

What I got:

4x of the Skylanders Dive Bomber. They look like they could be modded to be tiny mapping submersibles that can be lowered and towed behind a ship. https://www.collectors.com/action-item/ ... 4279745184

2x of the Nintendo World Ganondorf figures. They look like they could be painted up to be a pair of Star Wars casino type bodyguards or VIPs. http://a.co/gFK5skk

2x of the Marvel Enchantress/Executioner 2-packs for fodder. http://a.co/gwSSUNl

2x Playmation MODOK and 2x Black Widow figures. Might see if I have some different arms and legs to make a MODOK not look so gangly and frail. Gonna pop off the Black Widow heads to see how they work on 25th style female bodies.

3x Mr. Incredible figures for fodder. Might try to make some new costume designs ala Edna Mode. No capes though...

1x each of the worlds smallest Barbie and GIJOE.

1x Nintendo Starfox 'Peppy' figure. The jacket makes me think of a Doctor's coat.

2x Rusty Rivets/Crush 2-packs. The little droid looks like it could work next to a moisture evaporator on Tatooine with a little modding.

1x Justice League Action Wonder Woman figure. Not sure what to so with it, but it does have some long legs. http://a.co/0DNwith

5x Ben 10 Heatblast figures and 2x Ben 10 Deluxe Heatblast figures. These I didn't pick up last time and hoped I'd be able to get a few. I have been looking for base figures to make new Cobra Mega Monsters for the Mega Marines to battle. I thought I could brain storm to come up with a new Monster that is fire based, like Dr. Mindbender discovered the spontaneous combustion genome (whatever the heck it's called) and turned helpless Incinerators into fire creatures. The two bigger figures could be 'Brutes' and the smaller ones could be the standard.

6x Mayka toy block tape. I stood there by the shelf looking at these, trying to figure out a use for them. I don't collect LEGO or any of the similar style that use that type of locking system, but I was drawn to these. After standing a package on its side, I realized this might be an inexpensive way to make new tank tracks, or at the very least make some sort of tread type for putting around bigger tires for traction. http://www.maykaworld.com/

Stopped at Ollie's and got a Justice League Armored Batman 6 inch figure (the 5POA one you find at Five Below or Big Lots near the same size Star Wars ones). I saw it and thought it would look awesome decked out in Cobra BAT or BAAT colors. Or made up to be the new style SuperBAT the JOEs fought in the sewers in Devil's Due #12. https://www.collectors.com/action-item/ ... 8414426818

On my way out of TRU, I noticed they had stacks of shipping boxes for sale, 3 for $1. I got 15 of the smaller ones (size wise they look like they could hold 3-4 reams of copy paper) so I don't have to scramble to find the right size box for slightly bigger stuff.

Before I got in my car, I took one more pic of the ol' store.

EDIT:

I knew I would forget some things.

Grabbed a PS3 Disney Infinity Starter Pack set for 80 cents, PS3 Call of Duty Black Ops III Multiplayer/Zombies game (appears to have a full game digital download included), and three Star Wars coloring/activity books.

Stopped by Wal-Mart on the way home for groceries and I got lucky. They had just stocked Power of the Primes wave 2. I picked up Blackwing, the only deluxe from this wave that I wanted. I also picked up a 5$ Chap Mei military figure pack. I had never seen it before, but the drone is really interesting.

When I got home, my Amazon order was waiting on front porch. I am really glad I was able to order that JW truck. It is not at Wal-Mart or Toys R Us, so I jumped on it when I saw it at Amazon.

Finally, I received my copy of "The Joy of Joe", also from Amazon. Looking forward to diving into that one this weekend.

What I got today... JoeCon 2018 Edition!

Besides all the Club convention exclusives, I picked up a few things from the con floor (in one case literally)

No JoeCon is complete without a stop at the Marauder Inc. booth. They were my first and last purchase of the weekend. On Friday night I picked up 2 of the Male Kronos Ops figures, 1 of the Valkyrie Kronos Ops figure, and 1 each Male and Valkyrie of the Ambush Ops figures. MJ also had some extra parts for the Kronos Ops figures that I picked up as well. Not a big haul but the Ambush Ops figures will be on the store site and I don't have much need for bright silver figures, so I'm happy with what I got. On Sunday, as I was making a final lap of the con floor I saw that Marauder was selling prints of the show exclusive figures, so I got a set of all of them and that was my last purchase of the weekend.

On Friday night I found myself in the Roma Collectibles booth and they had a very nice carded Sonic Fighters Rock 'n' Roll that I needed for my MOC Rock 'n' Roll collection. So I snagged that for sure, along with some of the AWOK figures I have been eyeing, and a couple BFS Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. blanks.

That was it for purchases. I also got autographs from all the guests on my cover of the con comic/schedule, as I always do at JoeCon.

A surprise that was announced at the Saturday night awards presentation was David, Lanny and Brian entering the Hasbro "Legends" and getting their own G.I. Joe filecard. On Sunday anyone with a convention badge could get a set of these filecards (while supplies last). So I had to have these and got them all signed by the men themselves. I know we crap on the Club all the time but they've done a lot for the brand and played a big part in keeping it alive this long. These will go in my convention filecard binder alongside the other cards from this year's figures.

On Saturday night at the casino night the JoeCustoms crew took over a blackjack table, pooled our chips and came out with over 50k total. We bid on and won a HasCon exclusive art print set and everyone that chipped in got their choice from that pack. I took the classic HQ print because it had Rock 'n' Roll on it. It was all art from packaging and it all looked amazing.

JoeMichaels70 gave me a RAM Cycle to use for the Ramjet Supermotoenduro thing so I'll be building that out soon.

On Saturday while I was walking around the convention center looking for the Mini Gyreviper I stumbled upon a Declassified limited edition Sightline figure. Someone, not one of the Declassified guys (that we know of) was hiding them around the convention center all weekend. I found this one sitting on the floor next to one of the pillars in the lobby. So he's going into the special JoeCon section of my collection.

Other than a whole bunch of great memories, that's what I got at JoeCon this year.

Have yet to see any of the flatbed trucks in person. Other than my score of 3x of the Gyrosphere trucks for $21 each weeks ago, Monday was the only time I saw any of those at retail.

What is the Joy of Joe book? Have not heard of it before your post.

Those Marauder Kronos figures are nice. I got a male and female set on Sunday once his booth died down a bit. Besides the convention related stuff, I picked up a box of vintage vehicles on the cheap, more on that in the podcast coming this week. I kept a Remco raft and a Lanard river boat out of it along with some HQ parts for tech detail. Some cheap Marvel Universe and Star Wars fodder. Bucky and I dug through Kavanuagh's Retaliation boxes and got the best deal on carded figures for fodder. I also got the new Paul Rudd Marvel Legends Ant Man figure. I found a Battle Talking Commader Overkill with a working backpack on Sunday after looking all weekend. This one was in such great condition it will replace the one in the collection.

Settling in at Huntsville, AL.
Picked up these MU comic packs on clearance for 4.97 each.
Not sure I have a use for many, after examining them and seeing how many do not have wrist or waist articulation.

Plan on using the big guy (Hyperion?) as a PSC outfitting him in Marauder gear.

I think I may use the female base as a female sniper over watch outfitted with MTF Val gear also. Prob use the new MTF sniper rifle for that. Not sure.

What is the Joy of Joe book? Have not heard of it before your post.

It is a collection of 30ish essays from various writers, authors and fans about how Joe influenced their childhood and lives. It is a nice celebration of the joy that Joe has brought to so many kids (of all ages) over the years. I’m about 3/4 of the way through and I highly recommend it. The timing of the release is good, being halfway through a product hiatus, the book is a good reminder of why we fell in love with this line to begin with.

On topic, I picked up some SW 2-packs at Dollarama for 4$. They will make excellent fodder.

Found MB Skeletor, He-Man and my first Colonial Marine at EB games.
The display box seemed untouched except for all the aliens that were gone.
