I have some free time tonight and decided to share my G.I.Joe Convention FrankenJoe Contest Entry.

ATR Raptor

People didn't seem to take to my version of the character;

A former aerospace engineer who stole tech from various companies and began terrorizing the skies prior to the undead outbreak. A known enemy of the man known as Vulture, Raptor has surrounded himself with acolytes in various flight gear as well as a variety of highly trained raptors; eagles, hawks, and falcons.

A lot of people seemed to assume it was just a repainted 4" Vulture. It's actually not. The only Vulture parts are the backpack from the 6" 5 poa Vulture and the lower legs from the 4" Vulture. The torso, arms, and upper legs are from 3 different Firefly figures and the head is a cast of an old EEL figure, at least I think it's from an EEL. The harness is a modified Snow Serpent harness and the rifle is BBI.

Anyway, while people at con didn't seem to like him, I do and hope you do too.

I love it. Brings the character into reality. I'd buy it

Thanks all.

2Dark I based the paint scheme loosely on the Red Tailed Hawk. Glad you liked it.

I think you did a great job of walking the line between a "bird" and a bird inspired paintjob. I fear I would have done yellow legs !

that's pretty hot. Is there a head under the helmet?

Also, I dig the color scheme. We have a pair of red tail hawks that nest in the trees behind our house.

Sadly there is not. I'm still working on which head I want to use for the swappable head.

Thanks. Red tail hawks are my second favorite raptor, Peregrine Falcons are my first, so I wanted to pay tribute to that.

This certainly make the character more formidable.

I'm still looking at this to duplicate in my own way.

Btw, that head is a cast of a Spytroops helmet that I believe came with Depth Charge.

Nice custom, but what really stands out for me is how you painted the helmet. Especially the eyes are well done, they look very angry like most birds of prey!
