Can't wait to see where this ends up...I'm always a fan of seeing Vehicles customized.

Not sure what you're using to cut up your tanks...I'm going to guess you're using a dremel, maybe with a cut-off wheel. If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and pick up an Xacto Razor Saw (I got my from Hobby Town USA) they cut through Joe plastic like Butter and are great for making long clean cuts where you'll want to rejoin both sides.

Hi Nova, thanks for the advice, I'll do that. Using a Dremel can be a pain some times, melting the plastic instead of cutting.

Keep posted I'm uploading new pictures in 15 min

Here's an update. Bare with me, I live in a small town near montreal, canada and sometimes i don't have access to the perfect material so I need to work with what i have ;-)

now the pics

for the next two images, I did some photoshop tests to see how it will look like if I double the cannons

Test shot for the canopy, I'll probably try to cut the "inner" sections an keep each glass individual...

And...

I had this silly idea of using the Hiss Tank v5 tracks

So, what are your thoughts ?

get you a for sale sign and then trace the turret section onto it and then use the sign to fill the gaps of the double cut out turret and you'd be set on it.

I would also suggest using styrene to add extra armor and hide any joints that don't look smooth enough. Man you guys make me wish I had junk vehicles to make some of these customs, this is how i think the HISS 2 should have been done.

Wow, very original and I like how it is progressing! I can't wait to see the final product.

The only thing I don't like, and this is personal preference, are the Hiss v5 treads, they seem to be out of scale with the rest of the Hiss. :-/

Same here, I'd prefer the original threads.

I LOVE the Hiss 5 treads. Looking great so far. A lil sanding and a lil paint and this is going to rock.

i"m gonna be the lone voice here and say I don't like the newer tracks.

Here's why. The attachment point to the HISS body itself. There is all this weigh of the HISS and it's balanced on this one point where the tracks are attached. That thing is gonna rock back and forwards like a fulcrum when going over rough ground.

It looks like something any anti-armor round could knock out very easily or even be compromised by a HISS Driver running into an obstacle.

The newer tracks look good on the newer HISS because it's designed for something much faster and lighter than the original HISS.

I would second that I like the original better. Mostly because I think in profile it looks like the regular HISS, then as it turns you see the difference. The newer tracks do look good though too, but it gives an extra bulky look to it that something about it doesn't seem right.

I say stick with the old tracks UNLESS you can find some way to bring the new treads in a bit (so they don't stick out as far). I haven't looked at the structure of the new hiss treads, though, so I don't know if that can be done. Are you going to create a new turret hole with styrene or something so it doesn't have the huge side gaps?
