I'm already regretting not putting a coat of high gloss on the face mask to bring out the shine. The chrome head looks fantastic here. Working holster and addition of the sword really were good choices. That armor was in close consideration for me.

thanks!

I tried to keep a little connection to the other iterations of CC (with the sword & laser pistols)

I debated trying to get the fangs on the faceplate (one of my favorite features) - but after seeing what the previous entries had accomplished, just bailed on it. I totally forgot I was going to paint in grills on the 'cheek' pieces.

it's funny -- the day i decided to use the wraith armor (for the arms, too) - Raptor posted his virtual custom, almost listing my version here completely!

in the end I decided to bail on the wraith arms/armor, and went with Eel instead. the helmet is one of those Patton figure helmets, with some paraviper pieces cut & glued on.

I think you did a much better job staying true to the design intent & your arm work is fantastic! going black on your helmet was a real inspired choice!

//just realized i should put your critique in your thread ... :tictoc:

Another cool interpretation. And the fact that it appears to be largely playable is a bonus.

Thanks Spin!

I forgot to mention - the one thing I did on this custom that I've never done before is use Mod Podge Satin as a protective sealant -- it took overnight before I felt confident that it wasn't going to remain tacky - but so far so good - I think i'm going to go back to a few old customs that were ruined by the spray sealant & use this technique on them - just used one of my crappy dry-brushing brushes & painted it right on --

Just caught on to this thread for some reason. Another winner jm. Those are the parts I'd have been looking at, had I had the time. I dig the chrome, and the one vibe I get from this - is that it almost looks like what would happen if the original CC stepped into an Atkins-designed uniform.

Also, woot on another Mod Podge user! lol.

You know, this is almost an LBC and that is great! Even though it's not painstakingly accurate like some of the others, it captures the feel just as well. Plus you can pose and play with it without worry (which goes a long way in my book)

I like this figure. Sure, is uses existing parts without sculpting, but that is kinda its appeal (don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the ones that have been sculpted for the contest, too!). That being said, I like the longer cape look (I know, it would cover his pistol holster), as it makes him look more like an egotistical dictator. Like I said though, I do like it!

awesome JoeMichaels! Good job on the custom, someone needed to rep the 1:12th joe fans, and you handled it in spades.

These customs based on the Atkins artwork have all been fantastic. I often searched for a new recipe for CC, and pics of this custom have been saved as reference material should I decide to tackle him again. Very cool.
