I've never really been a fan of the "alternate" looks for superheroes, but your Flash sold me. Just straight-up awesome. And I think I've mentioned it before, but I love your dio work - they blow me away every time I see them.

Truly awesome. I hope you're planning on doing the whole league now.

That's awesome and gives me ideas for a Flash of my own. I would have expected more streamlined legs/tighter fitting pants though to cut down on wind resistance.

The emblem is what makes him. Great concept I've never seen on a Flash.

Thank you, IW! In the past, I've done The Flash with the printed symbol, but it never looked right to me. When making this figure, I wanted to try a new technique, and I sort of pieced together the bolt one night on my bench while messing around.

GL, hmm? Almost literally just finished a member of the corp... but who is it? :-D

Thank you, Chief! Y'know, it's funny, I'm all about alternate costumes for heroes. I kinda get bored with traditional looks, so I love reinterpreting designs... but there are always those definitive elements you have to go back to, that just make it work. For me, it's the helmet and the symbol.

And oh, yes, a Lantern is on the way...

Thanks, Pyre!

My guess is the Speed Force compensates ;-)

THE STAR-SPANGLED MAN: CAPTAIN AMERICA

Got so focused on completing new pieces that I became completely back-logged with photography. Finished a number of pieces and shot pretty much all of them, so more updates forthcoming.

Cap is an Avengers Captain America head on one of the new jumpsuit bodies, with Storm Shadow gloves and Arctic Snake Eyes legs, and kitbashed webgear. The shield is from a movie figure, but don't remember which one-- I prefer its metallic candy coat paint job.

Thanks, gents!

Had just completed photography on a bunch of stuff last night, so I was dead tired and not very chatty.

When I initially saw the drawings of Cap's costume in The First Avenger, I wasn't completely sold. Then I saw the pics and the suit in action and fell in love with the design, functionality, and overall utilitarian take. I wasn't expecting the cuffed boots and goofy grin-- the movie shows that looks so-so on camera during the USO show sequences-- but something more along the lines of WWII Cap in The Ultimates.

There'll probably be a few more shots of Steve, as there's one more photo I need to take, and I've been messing around with black & white filters...

The Red Skull leaves a surprise behind for The Captain:

The only known image of U.S. agent Captain America and vigilante The Batman, just prior to his "capture"-- and subsequent escape:

Image

From the mission dossier: "I was convinced that The Batman was one of us and had decided to let him go after our mission was a success... which he already knew, of course. To make his point, though, he dosed Banner with a fear-based hallucinogen that caused him to go on a rampage that is still unrivaled today... Batman disappeared in a cloud of smoke and wasn't seen for years."

Image

What's funny is that this is the second incarnation of Daredevil I've created, but this one was done first. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in a concept that I run with it for a blitzkrieg customizing project... this was one such occasion. Inspired by filmmaker Joe Carnahan's amazing Daredevil "sizzle reel" pitch, I got to work immediately: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92cVd9HalHs

...I just kinda picture it happening in 1943, not 1973

Image

Image

Matt Murdock here began life as a Duke figure with 25th anniversary Joe legs, topped off by a modded Marvel Universe Captain America head. The gloves were pulled from the Fodder Graveyard, but I'm pretty sure they're from a Star Wars figure, as is Hornhead's belt, with a GI Joe holster grafted on. The billyclub is simply a toothpick, cut and repainted.

Just like Captain America, I see Daredevil as a part (very distant, however) of my Gotham's Most Wanted universe, set in the 1930s-40s. My take is, that, just like The Batman, Daredevil began as a vigilante specifically targeting the criminals of Hell's Kitchen, and The Kingpin of Crime. Since New York, Bludhaven, and Gotham City are in such close proximity, the heroes did cross paths early in their careers... but when war was declared, Matt Murdock became a mercenary, occasionally working alongside the Avengers Initiative.

For Cap, at first I thought something seemed off, color-wise. But after seeing him in the Black and White pics, I don't care. lol.

I love the "expression" captured from he and Batman in the pic, and the Avengers '42 rocks. Awesome stuff.

Makes me wish my photography was up a few notches.
