Hey guys. I've been a long time lurker to this site and finally decided to share my first custom. It's still a work in progress but mostly complete. It's based off the the Storm Shadow in his own series using only the 25th Anniversary Storm Shadow V2. Had to do a lot of sanding, sculpting, and painting for this one. I had green stuff from years ago when I painted wargame miniatures but never used it. I love the stuff now and used it on half of the figure.
I first sanded the sleeves off his arms along with the detailing on his shirt. Then I sculpted his chest piece, gauntlets, belt, knee pads, leggings and shoes. I also sulpted his biceps, but I'm not really happy the way they turned out. Lastly, I painted him as close to the comic as I could. The sword and sheath were cut from his backpack and pegged to his back. I'm also constructing a pair of nunchucks that attach to his belt. I still have some touchup to do on the painting.
Thanks for the inspiration to take up this hobby. Enjoy and I encourage some feedback

Very nice! SS has always been one of my fav. characters, and you've done him justice. I've always used Sculpey in the past, and greenstuff only once. The greenstuff definitely makes for smoother mods. Excellent work on the sculpting.

Wow, It looks like he stepped right out of the comic pages. You have to do a Bruce Lee looking unmasked head for him though. That would just rock too much.

I do not read the comic, but based on the promotional images I have seen, I think you nailed the look! Very nice mods to the base body.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm working on his attachable nunchucks and claw right now. I hadn't even thought of doing an unmasked head for him. I guess I have to add that great idea to the "to do" list. I've also decided I'm going to do a more detailed paint job after I fix his arms. Thanks for looking.

Ok, it's been a busy week but I still managed to complete (mostly) Stormy. I redid his upper arms and did a more detailed paint job. I also scratch built his nunchucks which can attach to his belt. Still want to make his claw and a unmasked Bruce Lee " head version.

How did you make the 'chucks? They look really nice.

The chucks were made with 1/16" rod from stripstyrene, green stuff, and anchor chain from a model boat. I took the green stuff and covered 2.5" on a 5" rod (so i could hold it without ruining the details) and then sculpted the details. Once it cured I cut the rod to the right size. Drilled holes in the side (to attach to the peg on the belt) and top of each chuck. Used green stuff to "glue" the chain in. Once everything was solid I painted the chucks black, then aluminum and did a black wash.

Man, the details like his "chuks" are what makes this figure perfect. Can't wait for the unmasked head.
