Whether or not Hasbro would be interested in
this project for its characters, I don't know and it doesn't matter. This is simply our experiment in recreating what we liked from past lines by using some of what made Joe popular back in the day. If they were to glance at it and could take away one lesson, it would be to bring in new blood once in a while, but also to mix in some old favorites along the way. That is what they did in the '80s. They had a broad range of characters with different specialties, personalities and styling. They created the Original 13. Each one had their designated weapons and skills. A few years later, those characters slowly got replaced with others that shared the same specialties, but had different personalities, accessories and backgrounds. Grunt was replaced by Footloose, Rock & Roll by Roadblock and Zap by Bazooka (on store shelves at least). Just my 2 cents.

No argument, but I think you've done a lot more than that. You've taken everything that made G.I. Joe work the first time around -- cool characters, interesting designs, a good variety of merchandise across the board -- and brought it into the modern day. Would it WORK in the modern day? I think this -- I look at the average action figure section in the toy departments and toy stores these days, and -- once I'm through weeping -- I think that if G.I. Joe Resurgence were brought to full production exactly as presented here, right down to those great package designs (although I might prefer somewhat more traditional file cards
), it'd stick out like the proverbial sore thumb against the racks of boredom. It's colorful, it's exciting, it's in-your-face, and I can't imagine it not succeeding.
I mean, look at what Redmao said. You actually want to make him get another Duke and Cobra Commander. And how many of us are fed up with endless versions of those two?
Now, admittedly, in this day and age, it would need more than just "itself" to succeed. It would need a good animated series. It would need a good video game. It would need a lot of media presence. But if the foundation of those things is a really great, impressive, dynamic action figure line -- and it would rather have to be, wouldn't it? -- then all of that is right here in G.I. Joe Resurgence. And I think Kirk Bozigian would agree with that assessment.
It's my pleasure and honor to assist you on this project as I have with the file cards.
