Final Thoughts
When we started this project it was originally meant to be strictly crossovers. At some point, we asked ourselves, do we really want this to be that contained? In other words, did we want to force ourselves to create them in a way that these could exist in the GI Joe Multiverse? After some discussion of the limitations of that approach, we decided to keep it simple, keep our options open, and try to make fun customs that elicit feelings of nostalgia from a variety of franchises using Joe parts. Some ended up being crossovers that could easily fit into the Joe-verse and some did not, but we think all of them capture the feelings of being a kid again. This era in toys was not only a magical time for us as we lived through it and played with these toys, but was a fantastic time in toy history.

We’re thrilled to have taken this two week trip down memory lane with you guys. Thanks to everyone who followed, liked and commented. Your feedback is always appreciated.

And now, a public service announcement

Combat Carl by Dusty79

Combat Carl is an interesting addition to this project in that he is fake retro. When I saw the retro GI Joe like public service announcement on my son's copy of Toy Story of Terror, I immediately knew I wanted to make the figure someday, but it kept getting put on the backburner. This project was the perfect oppurtunity to find a way.

Boththe Captain and the Monster look impressive. I`m always supportive of a new sci fi themed figure but the Monster is MOST unique. Nice execution. One can never have too many monsters.

I'm going to have to bump My Pet Monster into my top 5 customs I never thought I'd see. I expected some of the rest. That one, not even little and it is perfect for a project like this.

With that said, those Transformer decos are hot. I am curious on Swindle, why the M2 instead of a missile? I mean Battle Bear missile wouldn't have required any modifications or paint. I always like to know why customizers make the design choices they do.

There will probably be more surprises in the next couple of weeks :-)

For Swindle, I admit that, for the gun, I was influenced by the vintage toy. It had 2 guns that combined to make a big one. I always liked that better than the missile from the animation. The M2 doesn't look like the small space gun, but I felt it was the right size and style for the Jeep.

This is my kind of project! Everything is amazing so far!

I love the TF/GOBOTS with Joe drivers. Only "complaint" is that Scrap-Iron is such a dead on update, I kind of want to see him done in a new deco to go along with his ride. Not sure on what colors though, unless he was in Constructicon colors like SDCC BAT. Beachcomber was one of the few TFs I actually had as a kid, so I was really happy to see him represented here, and that Crankcase redesign matches him great. I wasn't aware of that Cy-Kill repaint, but matching him up with Neon-Ninja-Zartan is perfect!

GREAT take on Captain Power. This show was always of great interest to me. I had a few toys, and caught snippets of the show but was never overly familiar with it. There are some great designs to work with though, and this is a very solid modern style take on the main character. Nice work!

I can't believe that MPM though! Great way to work in the goofy guy to standard figure format!

Can't wait to see what's next!

I thought I was the only one that remembered Beach Comber. That's awesome. Seriously cool as a cucumber's hot mom...

And that Monster is just ridiculous. I can't even think up a stupid metaphor to express my affection for that "LASER BLAST HOLE".

I like the Captain Power, my younger brother had all those back in the day. I hope you guys do some COPS toys. I always felt that it was a great toy line. Now it seems it's been forgotten.
