i'm making these wooden "gallows" type pieces for a knife testing set up. my friend ratbite ripped me some pallet wood into strips. I got them set up in a way I liked then drilled and pressed them together with kabob sticks. I sculpted the "sandbags" to try and weigh it down.

i'm waiting on some hardware before I glue them up and stain them.

made with rolled out nails and scrap steel. some have nail handles covered in heatshrink. others have wood handles.

I've had some time over the past few months to practice with some casting at work :)

I made some goblets out of dimes and nails last year. around that time made one with a drywall screw for the "stem" that I really liked. so I made a mold and casted some in brass. with mold, wax, casting, and clean up I think these took more work than just making them from dimes.

here you can see the one I made the mold from with it's screw up.

I found a goat mask I really like in a large ebay lot. I think it is a wwf prop. same process of making a mold, then wax tree, and casting in brass. I plated them in white rhodium then used some black antiquing to make the details pop.

Image
here they are with the plastic mask.

Image
each one is different as some had pits and voids in them I had to repair and others had parts that didn't come out in the cast at all.

Image
here are the two casts right after cleaning off the investment

on a arah stalker with some heatshrink on the head they fit pretty good

here on a me roadblock with a newsculpt helmet to get a good fit

Awesome work as always!

The goat mask is from the McFarlane Monsters "Phantom Of The Opera" set from about 2 decades ago.

last October I gave my friend mr jon a custom figure with a couple plastic fish. we talked about making a mold and casting a bass for a necklace.

it took me a long time, but today I gave him a sterling silver bass!

I don't know hhow much of a market there is for these things, because I've literally learned only today that there was a sizeable GI Joe collector community online, but these are awesome, I'm fairly sure they could sell well... If you're not already taking orders, that is.
My favourite items are the little daggers with their shielded handles, they look better than some full size blades I've seen and held!

I really appreciate the kind words YakForger! I've made a couple custom blades on commission for $20-$25 and sold some limited cast guns. i have a couple very limited brass destro heads in the marketplace here on joecustoms. i have made 2 sterling silver, and a total of 7 brass (only 1 in the wild) so they are very limited!
