As is, and in and of itself, that's a pretty extraordinary accomplishment. Reminds me of pluv's individually articulated robot fingers, then amped up in difficulty by working in metal.

That said, aside from the demonstration of artistry just for getting it made, to fully work in this scale, I have an ever-so-slight critique about the handle. Because while I love what you're going for, I (and you can ready the tomatoes to throw at me here) think the wood handle distracts from moving parts/metal work and slightly diminishes what otherwise looks to be one of the best in scale customizing accomplishments I can recall.

By the same token, I don't think that statement is a basis to change anything. Other than maybe considering material options (apoxie sculpted over a metal skeleton handle?) that let you get a finer scale outcome for the second one you do. I think this particular one should be left alone.

Have you tried other organic materials for handles? Could you use deer antler? At that scale I'm not sure if it would still come across as deer anther though, but maybe it would end up looking like ivory or bone or something.

thanks drbindy!

I am one step ahead of you with this revolver ! the wood grip is a space filler. indeed dusty79 some stabilized antler is what I want to make the permanent grip from. my friend at work who gave me the stabilized wood also has antler scrap (from his custom knife handles). the first non stabilized wood handles I made were too delicate for the intricate finger grooves, stabilized wood/antler is put into a jar of liquid that penetrates and then hardens organic material.I am also going to try to use gun cold bluing for a darker finish on this one.

I rushed it to be able to have pics this weekend, but it will go back to work with me Monday :)

Damn! That is the coolest custom accessory I've ever seen. No scratch that. That is a work of art.

I was able to get my DESTRO dagger put together today! I cut the factory pommel down. not real difficult with a dremel and sep-disk. then used a couple different burs to make a hole that the neck of a brass cast fit into. a few shots with a laser welder and it is permanent.i also hit the whole handle/pommel with flat black to antique it some.
