really early just fleshing out the enclosure. I still have a huge lot of critters in transit from ebay land. here you have the Japanese model snakes, safari reptile tube snakes/lizards, ij python, animal planet gator plus babies, safari limited white gator, schleigh croc and giant tortoise, joe cobra repaint monitor and coral snakes (one set repainted as California kingsnakes)

99% of the tanks need terrain and a lot of the brighter sl stuff will get repainted. the animal planet white/black gator will get a repaint too. same with the monitor lizard. I have been hoarding plastic containers and the rear shelf is an office paper tray. it is going to take a lot of work, but I hope you can see my vision.

i'm excited for my reptile hobby to mix with my custom figure hobby!

Looks good. A snake skeleton or gator skeleton would look great there

I would love that! I have a baby watersnake skeleton I poured clear resin over as a kid. I don't think it would photo well though.

thanks guys!

I don't have a "shell" or design plan quite yet. I am thinking two story dio with the top a swamp scene. the first floor would be the reptile room. I got lucky with the packing material i'm using for the 8 vertical tanks. i'm really getting a "science museum" vibe with the lay out as pictured. needs more evil genius stuff like maybe some mutant type critters. the lot I have coming "fingers crossed" has what looks like prehistoric reptiles along with sea life and 3 more gators!

Very cool.

My kid saw this and doubled down on his unfulfilled Christmas wish for a pet snake.

So thanks for that.

I suggest a wild caught snake vs. pet shop snake. especially for a first snake. you get educated on local snakes, get out in nature, and in the long run if they get tired of it turn it loose. no harm done.

I suggest an audubon field guide of reptiles of north America .for the nice clear pictures arranged by the "look" of the snakes. there is a childrens version too depending on age of the herper. I have the petersons now and it serves me well, but I am very familiar with most if not all eastern species. the petersons has better write ups but small drawn pictures.

you could buy them a tank with a locking lid and the book for Christmas. then in the spring hit the back yard or great outdoors to find that first garter, ribbon, or watersnake. make sure they study up on the difference between harmless and venomous species.
snakes of those 3 kinds are simple to take care of. worms for the garter/ribbon and usually minnows for all 3. getting into mouse eaters gets expensive for a kid real fast.

yup :) I nearly bought that one until the spectre generously traded me some babies! when my other lot gets in i'll have 5 adult gators and the 6 babies. I have the first and second crocmaster sidekicks but not the ME version. the original ones are such bad sculpts i'll probably leave them out of my dio.

I can get behind this project for sure. Digging it.

I suggest insulation foam for building the walls and perhaps floor. Would let you carve in whatever type of texture you'd want it to be, stone, wood, concrete whatever.
