That Grimace Cannon is my favorite thing today, followed by the Little People Dog (so doing that!)

Not for nothing, but there's an entire world of Little People Customs out there (do an image search) -- here's one set I was thinking of stealing: http://www.deathbytoys.com/2015/06/new- ... eople.html

Those Little People customs are one of the cutest and most inspired things I've seen lately. Thanks for sharing. For some reason, it never occurred to me that people would customize those, but it makes perfect sense. I bet LP customizers never thought the same thing about customizing Joes.

Day 3 brings us customs from a legendary video game and a legendary comic book.

Enjoy!

I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything you guys do, so I'm thrilled to see so much new work from you in this CC. But today's figures struck an especially nostalgic nerve. I had a few of the "wave 1" Bronze Bombers: where I grew up, they only sold them at K-Mart, which was on the other side of town, and I got a couple of them on a rare trip over there when I couldn't find any of the Galoob ST:TNG figures (also, strangely, sold only at K-Mart there). The straight arms were a bummer, but I liked some of the designs, and one of the guys served as Stalker for a while since I didn't have the original figure. I didn't buy the 12-pack for some inexplicable reason, and I always regretted it: there were some great molds in there (Secto-Viper is a personal favorite), and all of those heads would have made phenomenal custom fodder in my ARAH days. Also, I remember reading a story about Olmec toys in the old Collectible Toys and Values magazine that explained their mission as a company, and I always loved that they were trying to give kids toy role models that looked like them. So, seeing you tackle that line makes me really happy. And it doesn't hurt that the customs themselves are just beautiful.

It's been a while since I wanted to make a straight-up military custom, but I think you just knocked something loose. Can't wait to see what the rest of the project holds!

Thanks for sharing that memory sgartz. I have more Bronze Bombers planned in 2017.

Day 5 bring a couple of '80s arcade games to 3.75" form: Contra and Double Dragon.

Enjoy!

I was trying to save comments for the end, as I love everything being shown. but I can't !!!

contra was a favorite of mine and I was the kid who couldn't grasp the cheat code thing, so pluv and my friends that could were awe inspiring. hours and hours playing contra and with the 100 lives it was one of the only games we ever beat! some time later I got a game genie and the power to cheat on my own!!

thank you PHX for the memories and opportunity to play along!!

Picking a favorite day of this is impossible, but this would be a strong contender for me. Konami Kode ftw!

Great selection of games to pick, and very nicely done figures, too. I can't think of how I would change/improve on these if I were to tackle them from my video game figure customs collection.
