I cut the sword off at the hand guard, then cut the handle down, by around 1/3. I then took my pin vise, which is fitted with the drill bit that is just a hair bigger than my 22 gauge wire, and drilled up about 1/8" into the hand guard, towards the blade. I then drilled down into the handle 1/4" or so, and then cut a 3/8" long piece of 22 gauge wire, and put crazy glue on it, and shove it into the handle with needle nose pliers. I then put crazy glue on the exposed wire, and shoved it up into the hand guard. Wait 24 hours, and BETTER than new. I learned this technique from somewhere on the internet, originally used for customizing tiny 1:18 firearms and scopes.

cool! I have used metal "push" pins in near the same way. on "soft" figure parts just drive the pin in, clip off the head and repeat with the other end. glue the 2 pieces as they come together :)

drilling the two pieces would be a much easier and less risk of blood letting. I will try it out! thanks!

I have fixed 2 vintage water mocassin's this way too. That tiny bar that runs between the two steering vanes or rudders (i'm not familiar with the proper term) at the back, that breaks super easy, can be fixed this way.

I fix tons of parts this way. I also use this technique sometimes in building for strength.

Some amazing mash-ups going on here.

I hope you're going to build a dio set for all of these once they're finished.

Absolutely. I have all the parts in a box. I do need a new "floor" for it though... my wife threw it away thinking it was junk!

There will be very little sculpt work needed, and everything is planned out down to a floor plan and dimensions. I dissected the living crap out of the comic panels to come up with this. The biggest "issue" I had is the stuff labeled "5-5.25" tall tanks" That is for the tanks shown on the top of pg 4 of Marvel GI Joe #49. They are never shown again, but other tanks are shown in their place... and yet they are clearly not mobile. It also looks suspiciously similar to the tanks from the TV movie Arise Serpentor Arise. I'm really not sure what they were thinking, there. Regardless, I fitted it in, and made it work. My Genghis Khan looks like the Marvel version shown in Issue 49, since Genghis, Storm Shadow and the unnamed mummy were the only bodies we saw. The rest I went with more historically accurate bodies... except for Vlad! Obviously, he probably didn't have super long canine teeth! ;)

Here are some pics, ask any questions you want to! I won't give myself carpal tunnel by typing out everything seen here! I am leaning towards the newsculpt arms/ heavily modified Thrasher head/ Angel Forge oring torso with Cobra officer legs from the other oring guy shown... I want the working holster and sheath.

These are my preferred weapons for him. You will also notice I am doing the Issue 51 coloring. This makes more sense to me as it is Cobra Officer gear in the correct colors. Why would they have had WORMS gear laying around at the museum? LOL

Thutmose III
Made with Army of Darkness zombie looking deadite, plumbers tape, white glue (used to seal the tape and make it paintable) and acrylic paint.
Death mask was made from 25a Serpentor's face (which I carved off like a serial killer) and the Spy Troops Tunnel Rat Saw Viper helmet (also carved up) with a ton of sculpting and painting.
Sword was made from a Ninja Force Scarlett ver2 sword with lots of exacto knife sculpting

Caesar needs his shield, yet... and Napoleon needs his shoulder tassels, and they will be done. I still have to repaint mindbender's head too.
