I spent the last month going through all of my storage boxes to find the USS Flagg parts spread throughout the basement and attic.

After finding all the parts, I had to build the table. It's 12' by 4'. The bow of the ship will hang off of the table. Haven't figured out the best way to do that yet. Maybe a flip-up edge? Any thoughts?

These are the expansion deckplates. They're made of plywood and scrap wood. The deckplates will need finessing at the edges as the project progresses. The plate that is noticeably lower than the rest of the deck will be the elevator. It is large enough for a Skystriker with its wings open. Should I use a pulley system or a rail system to move it up and down? I might just add ledges for the elevator deck to sit on when in the "up" position, but remove it like a tray to set in the "down" position.

Instead of Skystrikers, I'll be loading the flightdeck with Storm Eagles and Vectors. This will be a visual cheat, as they're underscaled and will make the Flagg look larger than it is at a first glance.

The next big step will be to build risers on which the trusses will set (the GIJoeburg technique). This will double the space under the flight deck.

After that I'll sculpt the ocean waves onto the table.

Wow, that's gonna be neat. Quite an undertaking. I can't even muster the strength to put my old one back together.

Looking great so far. Meanwhile, excellent call on using Storm Eagles. Perfect size for this, and one of the truly underrated Joe vehicles.

Looks great. You did a nice job integrating the wood with the original plates.

Thanks, everyone.

As far as the weight, I'm not sure. The table is built out of 2x4's, plywood, and swivels casters. The expansion deck pieces are 1/8" plywood. Maybe 60 pounds? The tower will have one level added to it (not enough overhead space for more) and the risers will be wood not much wider than the trusses. That won't add much more weight.

That is such a cool idea. I'll definitely be following your progress on this.

Exciting stuff. I can't fathom making room for an even bigger Flagg, but I love what I'm seeing here.
