Marvin the Martian
Commander of Flying Saucer X-2
Head and body: HACKS red blank
Hands: BBi Elite Force
Feet: RoC Storm Shadow
Ray gun: Stickbot accessory pack
Helmet: HACKS Achilles
Armored skirt: HACKS Glow in the Dark armor
Eye decals: Stickfa

I had suggested to Andrew and Erik from Boss Fight that they do a Marvin the Martian custom to show the customization possibilities of the line. Chuck Jones and the Looney Tunes animators used Mars, the Roman god of war, as inspiration for Marvin's appearance that I thought would translate perfectly into HACKS form. Fortunately, they got busy designing real toys, but the idea kept nagging at the back of my mind. When danielb's birthday rolled around I decided it was time to make the custom for the guy who loves space adventures as much as I do.

Retaliation Cobra Commander
Head: Retaliation Cobra Commander
Body: Avengers Red Skull
Hands: Dollar General Cobra Commander
Pistol: 2DARK2C silver cast

I didn't do anything groundbreaking here. JoeCzar and several others have used the Red Skull body for a quick Retaliation movie accurate Cobra Commander. I painted the neck, cut and replaced the hands with hinged ones, sliced off the Hydra belt buckle, sculpted it smooth, and then slapped on a J_man sticker.

So here's the short story on this one. I loved the Indiana Jones artifacts that came in the crate boxes with the figures. But the taped up boxes look like crap especially after you open them. We have wooden coffee stir sticks at work. Every time I use one I end up thinking about what to do with them, but they are flimsy and sometimes chewed up so it would have to be something beat up or weathered to begin with. Well, the system went down at work for a couple of hours and it just so happened to be right before I was supposed to meet up with Nomads of JoeDeclassified fame. What do you get for the man who has everything? I made him a crate and packed one of 2DARK2C's brass pistols in it. Then I got jealous. Since then, I've been taking time during my lunch breaks to cut up all the sticks down to size and today I started glued it together. I wasn't sure how the printed stencil would look but I can assure you it looks better than my attempts at doing it by hand.

^That Slave I minature is the only toy I have at work. I forgot I had it until I was looking for something to put in there and it just barely fits.

Wild stuff all around. You should put Indy relics in your crate.

I would never have thought that a crate could be cool, but it is! Excellent work. I also love Marin the Martian. That's one of those spectacular, off the wall customs I would never have thought to make

Marvin is brilliant. One of the best uses of the HACKS stuff!

You nailed the CC movie look, one of the better things in that movie.
