We're progressing nicely on the Beta iterations of the Battle Android Trooper project. The v 0.5 should be suitable for tests under live fire conditions. After the issues with grit fouling the joints, especially in the feet and legs, we've gone with the simple solution of just clothing them. This will protect the joints cheaply, and still allow for easy access to the covered components for repairs and maintenance. We are looking at options to give techs easier access to the torso workings however, as those require more frequent work due to the swappable logic packs contained there. This is the first version using a mirrored faceplate. Now that we've gotten costs down, it's the best balance between protection and visibility we've found. We should begin looking into incorporating similar gear into the uniforms of our ground troops. We've also begun implementation of the interchangeable weapons noted in the original project request. The logic which will let the unit determine which weapon to utilize isn't finished, so each unit only carries one weapon at this time. We can switch weapons, but it requires a corresponding switch of logic packs. We're also working to minimize the power supply, which would allow us to eliminate the back unit, opening that space up for weapons storage. We'll let you know when the next revision is completed, but in the meantime, let's schedule some field testing. At the very least we can let some of the new recruit washouts take a crack at them. See who comes out on top. If a B.A.T. won't win in that fight, well, I don't want to be the one to tell the Commander where our budget's gone . . .
