Howdy, y'all.
Sorry I haven't written in a bit, but I've been busy working on a few things.

Pictured from top-left to bottom right is:
  • Firewalker (complete) - one-time Texas Ranger, Marine Force Recon
  • Bombshell - Steel Brigade Tank Driver/Commander (also a Marine)
(needs FFF/coating on her vest, paintwork on her elbow pads and kneepads once missing colors are found.)
  • Marshal (formerly "Martial Supreme") - Steel Brigade Officer
(needs FFF/coating on his torso, paintwork on his torso and AVTF helmet once missing colors are found. Touch-ups on the hairline are in progress.)
  • Broadway - Urban Warfare Specialist
(needs additional detailing to his 2000 'Urban Camo Infantryman' style camouflage and -- maybe -- his blue jeans.)
  • Hotline - Steel Brigade Radio/Telecommunications Operator (also a 3rd Generation Navajo Code Talker)
(needs FFF/coating on his right thumb, paintwork and coating on his pants' wiring once missing color is found.)
  • Python Komodo (least complete of the ones pictured) - Python Patrol Pilot/Officer
(paint matching needed for :copperhead2: or :pythontrooper: green in order to finish Pythonizing.)
  • Komodo - Cobra Intelligence Officer (and fixed- and rotary-wing pilot). Komodo was conceived when the idea of a black Cobra (or Dreadnok) wasn't yet on Hasbro's 'to-do list'.
(need to master python print technique, then addition of that print in :steelbrigade: or :motorviper: light blue to Cobra Blue pants and chest piece.)

With the exception of Walker, all of these guys (and gal) are works in progress. Notes on color matches will be added in a later post.
Let me know what y'all think.

Sorry about that. At the time I gathered them together for the picture, only 4 of them had O-rings installed.
Marshal's arms were almost not added at all -- the Action Pilot (blue) upper arms aren't quite compatible with the Tripwire v4 lower arms. What I could really use is a fresh pair of 2001 Tripwire v4 arms, as a plan B. Marshal's skin tone (and my own) is a match for Comic 3-pack Stalker's. :comic_stalker:
As for Komodo (bottom right), most of the paintwork is nailed down (the head is complete), but my challenge is going to be adding a light blue "Python print" to his pants and chest piece. Should I use 'Steel Brigade light blue' (Apple Barrel's 'Pool Blue') or something closer to Motor-Viper :motorviper: 's shade of light blue?
Python Komodo (2nd from bottom right) was assembled only for the purpose of showing his body construction and his completed head (now in Python Officer's :pythontrooper: color scheme, w/ Tiger Force Roadblock's skin tone :roadblock3: ).
Firewalker (Chuck Norris, in the top left) combines nearly left-alone Outback pants with a painted head and Snake-Eyes v4's torso and arms :snakeeyes4: . The Snake-Eyes parts were painted to match 1982 Grunt/Hawk/Breaker greyish-green and 1982 Zap/Stalker's olive drab. (If only I knew how to match Grand Slam/Scarlett/Rock 'n' Roll's dark gray.)

Post subject:  Spotlight on Python Komodo

Howdy, y'all.
Since my last submission, someone asked for more detailed photos. I'm still working on bits and pieces for each figure, but decided to stop and give y'all a detailed shot on one of my current projects, Komodo (my black Cobra agent) in his Python Patrol uniform. His subtitle is "Python Patrol Flight Officer".

Unlike most of the individual/named Cobras (i.e., Baroness, Firefly), Komodo worked his way through the ranks, even supporting the Commander's then-fledgling agency as a teenager. By the time of Python Patrol (and Cobra Commander's return to power), Komodo had already earned his wings as both a Gyro-Viper :gyroviper: and Aero-Viper :aeroviper:.
He had just met the requirements to become an Officer when Python Patrol (and its chapter of the Crimson Guard :crimsonguard2:) came a-calling. (This is why is flight suit's colors are largely based on those of the Python Officer :pythontrooper:. Only a select few know of his dual status as a Python Crimson Guard, and of its secondary mission to report infractions within Python Patrol to the Commander.)

Fun fact: the olive color used on Python Officer's belt and harness is the same as 1982 Zap. (Which is a lucky break for me since I'd already discovered and used such a match on Firewalker.)
The legs are undone as I haven't found a match for Python Copperhead's shade of green. Once I do, I will finish work on the (mostly outer) legs and paint the yellow pattern (likely at 65 deg. angles) on the still uncoated shoulder straps and wrist gauntlets.
I'm undecided as to whether I should paint the 4 pockets on the flight suit in black or yellow (same shade as the gloves).

In the meantime, let me know what you think (and tell me if you think those pockets should be black or yellow).

I like the red pockets :) maybe stripe them red/yellow/black like a coral snake.

Besides the Python Patrol camo, I just like this guy's color scheme. It really pops.

Post subject:  Re: Cybertronian's Works in Progress -- 9/13/2017

Thanks, y'all.
I found out after assembly that Python Officer's belt (and harness) is a duller color than the olive/yellow pattern used on Python Trooper and Python Copperhead. Prior to this discovery, my plan was to leave the waist 100% unpainted (and about 95% unpainted for the inside thighs). I wish I knew the paint match for the Copperhead/Trooper green and could cook up some kind of middle ground. The pockets are red because they are the only section of the Wild Weasel torso that's unpainted. They look like the match the scarf because I haven't yet coated the scarf with F.F.F. After I do so, it will match the facemask, painted in Americana's Tuscan Red (which is a spot-on match for Python Viper's red paint :viper2:).

I once commissioned a 25A version of Python Komodo using the 25A equivalents to the same parts used here (Copperhead legs, Wild Weasel torso, etc.). The artist used yellow on the chest pockets which sit on the straps like Snow Job's. In my original plan (and the web icon based on it), I initially went with black pockets, only thinking of a secondary color after looking at Tiger Force Skystriker :skystriker:.

Komodo is very nice.
Copperhead's head works surprisingly well as a pilot's helmet. Smart thinking!
