Wow!

First that EM head sculpt is FANTASTIC! Please let someone cast that.

Then Cull Obsidian... Holy heck yes that is AMAZING. I may have to make one, where was the Chinese Knock Off figure from?

Thanks for the kind words, fellas.

Glad you Dig Cull and company.

A lot of work went into these and I'm really glad to have the characters represented in my MCU custom collection.

sgcaper - eBay is lousy with that Chinese Hulk. And it's pretty cheap.

I kind of gave up on Marvel 3.75" because of how inconsistent it had become... you, clearly, were not going to be deterred.

Hey all.

Been kind of preoccupied for a while, helping take care of my mom and, more recently, spending a lot of time with family while we dealt with her passing.

As it was with my dad two years ago, customizing has been pretty therapeutic for me and my kids. Far From Home was really the last carefree fun memory they had so, a few days after the funeral, they asked if we could make some of Spidey's new suits from that movie.

The first was a mishmash of parts - Joe and MU - that seemed like they could belong to the Night Monkey persona Peter adopted overseas:

There was a little part modding/re-engineering involved in making everything work together, but the kids were happy with where it ended up.

Next was Spidey's new Stark-tech suit:

This one was mostly a repaint of the 1:18 Homecoming Spider-Man from the Legends two-pack, though it needed some sculpting around the arms. Somewhere I've got some web-wings from an old MU Spider-Woman that I might try to adapt for his glider function.

What do you think?

very sorry for your loss. it's great that you can share your customizing with your kids!

I haven't seen the movie, but the all black suite is very cool.

The customs are great, but the fact that your family is able to share your hobby and art together to help each other cope is just amazing.

Night Monkey is by far and away the best custom of a French superhero.

Stark Tech Spidey made me want to make the suit station that Peter used to build it.

Thanks, guys.

The kids really dig being involved in part selection and they get a kick out of throwing down character challenges,

Here's a shot of that new Stark-enhanced Spidey in glide mode:

And a full dio scene my son set up using many of the Spider-verse characters in our collection:

Making that plane-based suit lab is a cool idea. We'll have to try that.

nice work as usual Spin. always a treat to see your work, and have to agree with the idea of this hobby as being therapeutic - especially when you add sharing it with your kids. Sorry for what you've all gone through.

That set up at the end just screams 80's nostalgia to me. Reminds me of one of those old cardboard cut out Marvel games come to life.

So before the movie came out, I'd taken an initial stab at an Endgame Hulk that I didn't mind so much from the waist up but was not happy with south of the border. Then I actually saw the movie and how little time he spent in that suit and was even less happy with it. So I took another whack at it using the other 6-inch figure from the movie toy line. But that still had the ugly t-crotch aesthetic going on and another problem I didn't notice until my eagle-eyed kids pointed it out:

As they explained (and a second watching of Endgame confirmed) the smart version of Hulk is a blend or compromise between Hulk and Banner, and he is considerably shorter than the Hulk in his previous appearances. So the fact that my Endgame Hulk stood even taller than my basic Hulk custom was a problem.

This led me to abandon my plan of using the factory base figure and I started over with a thoroughly sanded MU Rhino body and some Green Stuff. Here's how that ended up:

I think this is much closer to the proportions depicted in the movie. To further illustrate relative scale, here's another shot of him with the team responsible for the science and engineering behind the Time Heist portion of the film:

looks good to me :) I like how you flesh out all the screen accurate versions!

Thanks, guys.

Over the weekend my kids convinced me to make a swappable right forearm outfitted with the Starktech Gauntlet (using bits from the comically oversized accessory that came with the factory Hulk figure and an MU Apocalypse right hand):
Attachment:
HulkGauntlet.jpg

And since I had the other spare hand from that fodder figure, I went ahead and updated the undersized fist on the Endgame Thanos I had modded before the movie came out:

I think I'm done tweaking these two now.
