pennywise wip pics. I started with the McFarlane kiss clown body. a 6-7" spawn head that I sculpted on more head and hair . a push pin for the nose. I was going for a mix of old and new.

thanks josh! IT truly means a lot!

too many pics to get them all tonight, but here are a few. I omitted the top hair tuff, then sculpted some more on the sides. then added the vest and a lot of paint. not exactly movie correct, but an homage to the 80's movie with a nod to the recent one with the red balloon. I think the red balloons are much more menacing.

lots more coming......

balloons came from ebay/china and I had to buy 5x$1 sets to get that many red ones. I also made wire "strings" for them as the clear plastic ones looked terrible and glued them on. I made 2 arms because I wasn't sure which would look better in pics. I went with the smaller of the two which is a walking dead kids hand in a heatshrink sleeve with a dollar tree skeleton bone hanging out. the larger one is a adventure wheels or starwars? arm in heatshrink.

if you watch "forged in fire" you will dig this.....

Great stuff! It was a shape shifter, this could totally be how the Tim Curry Pennywise appeared sometimes, we just never saw it on screen.

thanks dan! I need to see the original again, it has been a long time. I liked the new one, but the vaudeville or is it Victorian pennywise just so so. I started wanting to make a bigger scarier version of the new one. but personally I think the older circus clown look can be scarier. I think I've heard Stephen king didn't like the original movies (maybe it was another movie).

the McFarlane kiss clown is almost the exact same as one of the clowns from "killer clowns from outer space". I just saw it for the first time :)

thanks indrox1! they are just regular stapler staples that I hit with a bronze sharpie. I had the vest on without cutting it, but it made it so the arms wouldn't move. I started with just a slit at the top, then went with cutting it all the way. I was about to "thred" some wire when I thought about using a stapler to punch holes. it worked so well I just left the staples in.

Pennywise has some serious competition. Inspired work, man.
