Been a hectic 11 months around here, selling our old house, moving to a new one and trying to find a place for my joes and customizing. Finally got a little corner to myself and been knocking out the WIP box and slapping some new stuff together. I'm gonna try to post them here over the next few days. Bear with me, I just started using ImageShack so I've got to upload everything there and work out posting them.

Gonna start with these three that I call The Daughters of Onihashi. I liked the Vypra sisters from the Red Ninja 6 pack and the filecard said they were the daughters of Arashikage sword maker Onihashi. I wanted to give them a bit more personality and change their looks for a little more individuality. Added a third sister I after started working on them, there may be more depending on parts availability. I tried to keep the red and the neat detailing from the original figures. These ladies are part of my Reddokuran, the Red Ninja clan.

---------------------------------------------------

Known as The Daughters of Onihashi, The Dark Master's Wives, or The Sisters, these dangerous women are always found together and strike with an unrelenting mercy. Little is known of their background. No one knows if they are even related to one another or Onihashi for that matter. Their technique is obviously Arashikage inspired but Storm Shadow has found no record of them in Arashikage history. They have aligned themselves with The Reddokuran and seem to take orders from The Dark Master and no one else. GI Joe operatives are warned no to take these women lightly, they are extremely dangerous by themselves and deadly together.

Image

-------------------------------------------------

The first sister was pieced together while watching The Animatrix. Started with the Elizabeth Swan parts and added GI Joe parts around that.
Image

The second sister was inspired by the original figure. Curious if I could make the Storm Shadow torso more feminine. I think it worked out okay.
Image

The third was an idea that came to me and I needed to salvage that Scarlett torso that I butchered during a totally different custom attempt. Started here with the POTC lower legs and worked up. I attempted to change up the Beachhead mask with a more Middle Eastern look with the draping front. I wasn't really feeling this one until I added the belt from an Indiana Jones temple guard.
Image

And a prepaint shot of all three

very nice! I actually like the wips better and I think it's because the red hides all those great details. maybe some sort of wash would make them "pop".

Doc Terror and Hacker to face off against The Centurions (who I need to take better pics of ad finish their other weapon systems). Really kitbashed these guys alot. Started with ChapMei torsos that I converted to o-ring and gave joeticulated arms. I knew that arm from the original Chap Mei figure was perfect for Terror. The right arm is from an accelerator suit figure. Legs are kitbashed from GI Joe uppers and knees spliced onto the Chap Mei space boots and I went ahead and replaced the toes with some from a Chronicles of Narnia figure. Trimmed a bunch of "tech detail" from the sacrificial Chap Mei and glued it here and there. Filled in the empty spots with green stuff.

Image
Image

Hacker used the same torso, converted of course. I reasoned that Doc Terror uses Hacker as his test bed of sorts and he would have the same "chassis". Used the Chap Mei arm for the base of his right arm and he got the left arm from the accelerator suit figure. Legs are GI Joe spliced with those funky lowers from a Gundam I've had floating in my parts bin for over a decade. Tech detail bits and green stuff filled in the gaps. The head was where I started with Hacker and is a Chap Mei pirate. Shaved the bandanna off and it had the perfect ugly, doofus look to it. The head on the arm is from a Halo Megablox fig. Gives Hacker someone to talk to. I used a Chap Mei jaws of life for the right arm, it really works. The other end is a random hammer I found in my parts. The right arm is joeticulated at the shoulder and rotates 360 degrees so either end can be up front for business. The torso had a nifty hole for a tube on the original figure. Here I stuck a rocket launcher arm from a DTC six pack Overkill fr a little extra firepower.

Image
Image

I really wanted to make them like the originals to split in half but couldn't get that worked out. Instead I gave them some REVs as Strafer, Lesion, and Syntax.

I've wanted to make a Heartwrencher since I first saw her in the comics with Burnout, but never really set my mind to it. This one came together kind whiel playing with a Rogue I picked up at Ollie's. Added a skirt from a Star Wars figure and swapped in a Lady Jaye head were the only parts I changed. Painted the torso and changed the green to purple and black for a quick Heartwrencher. Gave her some tattoos and a custom weapon to call it complete.

Put this group together after watching Stranger Things Season 2 last year and just finally got around to painting them. Firewall was the big hangup and my original custom of her became another character to be revealed later. The three guys got lumped together because of their primary specialties and I figured they would have ended up together playing D&D and have shared interests.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The message came from the HAARP Center in Alaska, concerning some very disturbing transmissions. The general public has never known the truth about HAARP and maybe they shouldn't, but if the messages they were receiving are accurate then the truth will be revealed about many things. Duke assigns his top tech experts to travel to the evacuated facility to discover if there is any truth to the reports the director has sent over, but first he has to fill them in on some of the truth. Since the Star Brigade battles of the early nineties GI Joe has used HAARP to broadcast beacons into the vast reaches of outer space in an attempt to reach Spaceshot. Reported MIA and believed by many to be deceased, GI Joe has never given up. Spaceshot and Blackstar were engaged in a dogfight when their ships collided, as they tumbled through space all transmissions were lost suddenly with no traces either of the ship's debris. It was theorized they were lost to a black hole or simply smashed to bits in an asteroid field, but Hawk insisted on the ongoing beacon hoping Spaceshot could latch on to it and find a way home.

Now HAARP has received messages indicating Spaceshot is alive and coming home. Hi Tech is called on to lead a small team to verify the accuracy of the message. His close friends Firewall, Hacker, and Hard Drive are quick picks. They find the facility has been evacuated by suggestion of Duke and only the director and his assistant remain on site. The team takes their places at the transmission centers and begin to comb through the garbled messages. Suddenly Hacker is struck by a transmission through his ear buds. A repeat message that he begins to mumble louder and louder until he practically screams "THE LUNARTIX ARE COMING!!!" He collapses to the floor immediately. Hacker is unresponsive but breathing. Hard Drive takes Hacker to the on site infirmary while Firewall tries to dig deeper into the code to find what it means. Suddenly Spaceshot's voice booms through the facilities loudspeakers, ".....and we're coming home. I repeat, GI Joe Spaceshot is returning to Earth aboard an intergalactic prisoner transport. I have the former Cobra pilot Blackstar with me and we're coming home." Hi Tech attempts to open communication with them but cannot patch through. Intuition tells him something is wrong and he immediately contacts Duke to send Sky Patrol and BF3k with full compliment of RoboJOEs and advanced weaponry to face an unknown threat. Better safe than sorry.

Sky Patrol arrives in time to escort the alien space craft to the HAARP's landing strip. All personnel keep distance as the ship opens and Spaceshot and Blackstar emerge. The director of HAARP and Hi Tech greet them and escort them into the warmth of the hangar. Weapons are set aside and Hi Tech greets Spaceshot with a hearty Yo Joe. He still feels something is off and stalls, giving the BF3k unit time to arrive. Spaceshot and Blackstar are seated and Hi Tech begins an interview while the medical officer from HAARP begins a quick examination. Spaceshot tells his story while Blackstar remains silent. They were sucked into a dimensional wormhole. Their disabled ships locked together and crashed on an alien planet. The inhabitants ripped them from their cockpits and shackled their hands and feet. Translating headsets were put on their ears and they heard the judgement in plain english. As humans from the planet earth, they were guilty of all intergalactic crimes committed by Earth and by trespassing into the deep reaches of the galaxy, they violated the NeVaHDA-51 treaty and they were sent to the prison mines of SandDuskitch-42 to serve until their lives were over. The two earth men put their differences aside and vowed to escape. They found other willing prisoners and made their escape during a daring and explosive event, stealing a prisoner transport ship in the confusion. They began leaping through the galaxy as bounty hunters and smugglers while staying clear of the intergalactic law. Spaceshot tells them that now they have returned to Earth. When Hi Tech asks him what he plans to do with the alien creatures on board, Spaceshot replies"we didn't come to stay, we came for revenge." Blackstar hits a button on his wrist and the ship opens as the Lunartix descend the ramp, weapons at the ready. Spaceshot and Blackstar leap across the room for Hi Tech and the director. Hi Tech can only hope BF3k arrives in time.

I wanted to strip Hi Tech of his battle gear and bring him down to more of an everyday guy. He's the group lead for my BF3k, the advanced weapon research team and successor to Battle Force 2000.
Image

Hard Drive was a horrible figure with odd proportions and bad paint apps. I just wanted to clean him up a little. Used a heavily modded Stalker torso with the Hard Drive arms. Snake Eyes upper legs on Hard Drive lowers. Recondo head since the original was too small.

Image

Hacker was on the other end proportionally. He was just too big overall. Scaled him down with some smaller parts and swapped out the Shipwreck feet for Grunt. Bulked up the Blackout torso and swapped in the Heavy Duty lower arms. A Wet Suit head replaced the too happy melon head of the original.

Image

I've tried several attempts to put together Firewall. This one actually started as Inspector Gadget's niece. Pretty happy how this one came together although the legs seem a bit long. The torso is Baroness with a Chap Mei vest cut and glued into place. Head is Elizabeth Swan.

There's a lot of great stuff going on here. Love the Centurion baddies. I think Doc Terror's human face is a little too friendly looking, but otherwise, those are just great.

The tech joes all look awesome too, lots of good ideas going on here!

Thanks! I try to stay away from washes because they tend to accentuate my sculpting flaws and rough edges.

Didn't notice that at first but now I see it. I really wanted to try and take her away from the slutty biker groupie look she had in the comic and make her more of a valued Dreadnok.

I struggled with Terror's face but that hair was perfect. I wanted more of a scowl but I couldn't find anything I liked. I'm keeping my eyes open, it could get replaced if I find an acceptable replacement.

Quick thought, maybe all he needs is the eyebrow repaint a little lower and angled?

It's great as is, a scowl would be cool but you've done a lot of great work on that head, the eyebrow repaint might be a good compromise.

Just an idea!

I thought I had a prepaint pic of Hi Tech but it appears I don't.

Head: Some Star Wars pilot. Wish I could name him but I mostly buy Star Wars on clearance and for parts only. Came in a multipack of orange suited rebel pilots, I think.
Torso: DTC Barrel Roll is correct but it has been thickened and lengthened at the waistline with green stuff
Arms: Single pack Dollar General Shipwreck
Waist: I'm not sure anymore. Usually when I add length to a torso, I mod the waist with green stuff to match for a better fit.
Upper Legs: VvV Duke
Lower Legs: VvV Gung-Ho spliced onto Guillotine boots and sculpted over with green stuff.

The Freddie Mercury looking guy is Spaceshot. I tried to keep his original colors but with an added space pirate flair.

Head: Spytroops Shipwreck with the goatee shaved.
Torso: Corps, used mostly on Rain but many others as well. Modded for o-ring use.
Waist: GvC Dusty
Arms: GvC Dusty shortened at the bicep swivel and Guillotine hands.
Legs: VvV Stalker spliced with Chap Mei pirate boots.

I really need to do a better job of prepaint shots.

Gonna have to take a closer look at this idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow, there's so much jawsome present here that I can't even think of the right words. If anything I feel like I want to try and steal some of your ideas, especially with Doc Terror and Hacker. Damn fine work on everything all around. Kudos.

just with reading the parts list I can see the amount of work you put in! I was hoping I could just buy a figure to get those legs from hitech or head from spaceshot.

really great stuff!
